Default Krell - and BD/HD-DVD

Krell has just recently launched a brand new DVD/SACD/CD-player, Evolution 525.

http://www.krellonline.com/krell_com...age=EVOPLAYERS

Would anyone know if Krell has anything up their sleewes regarding the new format(s) BD (or HD-DVD)? Or is the fact they're not bothering offering BD (or HD-DVD) Krells way of saying there will be another new format just around the corner ?

Any thoughts about this ?

Cheers!

No. Most of the high end companies take there time and wait to see what happens with any new formats before creating their own product. Most of them don't have the resources to jump right in unless there is a sure winner out there.

The esoteric companies also purchase chips from manufacturers such as Sony and create a solution that supossedly improves upon the concept.

Very true. Ayre Acoustics is another high-end company that is taking the exact same approach....wait and see which format comes out on top, and improve on current technologies.
I predict we won't see an Ayre player with Blu or HD-DUD until at least 2010 (personally I think Ayre will go Blu). In the mean time, if you're lucky enough to own Ayre's DX-7e (standard) DVD transport ($5950) or their D-1Xe DVD/CD player ($11,000), you know those babies come pretty darn close to HD -- with only a 480p signal!!!!!
