Default Krell S-300i

I currently have a nice set of LSi9's that I use for 2.0 stereo listening in my family room. I am running them off of an Emotiva UPA-2 and using an old Onkyo TX SR806 AVR as a pre out. Sources are pretty simple.... an Oppo disk player I use for CD and SACD, and an iPod. Thinking about s-canning the AVR and Emo and going with this integrated Krell. Appreciate any comments on how well this would work with my LSi9 speakers and what kind of improvement I might expect. Thanks.

I use a vintage sonic holography Carver pre-amp, a vintage Carver two-channel amp (200 watts per channel), and a vintage Rotel CD player with my vintage Polk RTA15TL speakers in my two-channel room. You can say that I am a vintage guy. The results are very good. In the 1980's, I used a high-end two-channel Yamaha integrated amplifier with Koss speakers. My guess is that replacing the Emotiva amp and Onkyo pre-amp with a Krell integrated amplifier may not give you a significant change in your audio. My recommendation is to save your money or spend it elsewhere.

I agree with BD. Save your money as you'd probably only get a very marginal gain, if any. I'd only buy it if you just want to own something Krell.

I just hate it when you guys use logic and common sense and real world perspective on this stuff. I guess that was what I was asking for. I was all fired up to get the Krell integrated amp, run that on my LSI9's for a while, and follow that up with a set of Salk SongTower speakers I am drooling for too. Dreams of sonic bliss! OK. I am down shifting.

Don't give up on your dream yet...Why don't you just get your Salk SongTower speakers first and build around them
