hello, would you guys mind to give me some pointers ?

I am planning to buy an acer 6935G-864G32Bn
and in the brochure, the rom says "Blu-ray Disc / DVD-Super Multi Double-Layer Drive"
what does that mean ? does that mean that I should choose between blu ray or DVD ?

can blu-ray rom write DVDs ?

In a laptop, usually a BD ROM is a BD Combo drive - will read BDs and read/burn DVDs & CDs.
This machine has a BD Combo drive(other one is a burner).

Yes, it will burn DVDs & CDs.
