If you get one at BB or Walmart, your'e looking at $30 or so for the cheapest (Which is WAY overpriced!). I just got a cable from bargaincell online and it was like $3.00 shipped (6ft cable)... So I'd go online if you don't mind waiting.

If you can't wait you can always get one at a store as a temporary one while you wait for an online purchase to be delivered... either way try to get one from online because any brick and mortar store is definitely going to screw you... the cheapest I saw at Walmart was $27, It think.. and about $40.00 at Best Buy.

If you are just running to the flat screen the cheap cables are OK. If you are running from a Blu-ray to a receiver (Bit-stream) you need the BEST HDMI cable you can buy. Don't be cheap with a quality source. It will bite you back.

You have absolutely NO CLUE what you are talking about, my friend. ANY inexpensive cable will be fine for ANY connection. Where in the world did you hear that, from a blue-shirt at BB trying to sell you a $200 Monster cable? I suggest you read through the countless HDMI cable threads on this site before you post misinformation like that again.

MonoPrice is where I get all my cables from. My whole HT is wired with them. Great quality at a low price. I use them from my Blu-ray player to my receiver, bitstreamed, and they work perfectly.

So far my $10(include shipping) HDMI cable from Monoprice.com is performing as good as any $100 BB HDMI cable. If you are buying expensive cable $50 to over $100, you are paying $10 for the cable and the rest is probably packaging.

Trust me, Monoprice has every quality HDMI cable you need. Shipping is fast too.

I got a Belden 8' with gold plated ends and a fabric covering on the cable for around $18 at Sams Club and its more than fine. You can find elcheapo ones for a few bucks but while it might look fine now the cable may corrode or break at least get a decent one but don't get ripped at Best Buy for those Monster Cables. I have had terrible luck with Monster S-Video. I bought 2 and both are broken and my cheap ones are working just fine.

Riiiiiiiiiight... it's weird how my $3.00 cables are giving me stellar picture and sound running between my cable box and PS3 Guess I should have gone with the grossly overpriced ones.... HA

Ladies and Gentlemen: you may agree that OPPO makes very high quality up-converting universal players. I am using the HDMI cables from OPPO:

These cables are fantastic, with ferrite beads on both ends.

I can't believe someone would have the audacity to suggest this! This is part of the reason why prices for all kinds of things are as high as they are!

I get all my HDMI cables from firefold.com. They have actually lasted longer than the rocketfish cables i bought at a brick and mortar store. Great prices and very quick to ship.
