I was never a regular watcher of CSI but I saw a good number of episodes, but now the two characters I cared about most are in Costa Rica. I may watch it if I have a free DVR slot for that time.

if u're at least willing to try and so are others, the show will be fine.

yes, ratings will drop b/c of this, but if people can get over the fact that he's not there anymore but the rest of the crew is, it s/b fine.

i don't understand why people are just gonna stop watching b/c of this?? the show is still awesome. plus, he's still involved as an exec. producer so the show itself isn't gonna change. that, and he'll be back for the occasional episode he's said.

The show will be fine. I know I will still watch. William Peterson (Gil Grissom) was the star, but to me Paul Guilfoyle (Capt Brass) is the heart and soul, as well as my favorite character. If he ever left then it would be hard for me to watch, but at least I'd give it a chance. Now I just wish CBS/Paramount/Viacome would get this series on Blu-ray.

P.S. So glad there were no spoilers as I was working last night and had to DVR and haven't had time to watch it.

At worst, his departure (along with Fox's and Dourdan's) makes the show almost feel like one of the spin offs. As those are still decent shows, I don't see a problem.

I won't stop watching because of the departure, but it just won't feel the same without him. I will give it a couple of spins to see how it goes.

i think they should have just promoted david caruso

CSI in all its forms is just funny to me because they just use a formula for the characters and just put them in different places

you have the brilliant, but sort of eccentric lead actor, with the stong female lead (usually blonde) working alongside him, the hardcore bruiser looking guy, the rookie, the weird scientist guy who just stays in the lab analyizing stuff and doesnt get any field work, the other kind of random girl (usually brunette) that ends up hooking up with at least one of the male characters, you cant go wrong!!!

i cant really say too much regarding the new york one as ive only seen one or two episodes before i said enough, but las vegas and miami are the same show, just different places, not really hating, just an observation

I'll continue watching. And atleast they brought in another good actor to fill the emptiness left by Grissom.

I don't see how people like Miami over New York though. Caruso just hits me the wrong way in Miami. The always looking down and taking his sunglasses off in every scene then the dramatic pose... it gets old. Just my opinion. Also, I like NCIS above all the CSIs.

I will give it a chance. As long as K Helgenberg remains, I will still watch.
Laurence Fishbourne (sp) is a great actor and will bring something to the show.

I'm not going to stop watching the show, but I miss Grissom already. He was the show to me.

haha do you ever watch The Soup on E! ?? they make fun of that ALLLL the time!

and i like NCIS a lot more than any of the CSI incarnations as well, for two reasons

1.) better writing and acting

2.) pauley perrette

So last night was the first show without Grissom. I thought it wasn't bad. Kind of a different feel to it with Fishburne, but I thought it was still entertaining. Anyone else?

I have to agree..it sure isn't the same without Grissom but I think in a few weeks or so Fishburne will grow into the roll.

I agree guys. It was different but still entertaining and this may be the change the show needed to breath new life into it and keep it going.

have to agree w/the last couple of posts. i enjoyed last nights episode as well. i've always liked this show and still find myself putting in the dvd's once in a while just for something to watch.

i think it'll do just fine w/o grissom there every episode. and when he does make the occasional apperance (read an article stating he'd be back from time to time) it'll be that much more enjoyable.

Cool

Grissom leaving was the last episode for me.

My new love is Fringe, or Anna Torv.
