Default Viera TC-P50V10 info? + 800u comparisons?

I have looked all around but simply cannot find the info...

How much will the Viera TC-P50V10 retail for (approximation)?

I am watching the 800u's dry up all across the internet, and I'm starting to worry that waiting for the V10 is the wrong move...

I tried finding this information all over the interwebs, but came up dry. I know a lot of you have significant insight and could offer (at the very least) well qualified educated guesses.

I would never be able to get my wife to spend over $2400 on the TV, and even that would be pushing it... a lot.

Should I grab the 800u while I still can, or will my holding out be rewarded in the V10 series?

edit: my wife just reminded me that the circuit city near our house is literally littered with 80 and 85U's at huge clearance discounts. I told her this wasn't an option due to the lack of a self-calibrated mode + not as good PQ... but I don't know anything, so help me with that too, please.

I really don't know what size that you are looking for, but if you can wait until TC-P50v10 hit the market early 2nd quarter of this year; you'll probably be able to get a 58" pretty cheap. BB has a lot in their inventory and in due time they are going to have to get rid of them.

I'm a bit in the same situation, but I won't buy an HDTV until probably June 2010, I'm waiting for the v10 to come out. I hope 24fps is working well on this TV. Panny said they fixed it on v10 models.

Try searching the AVS forum... a couple of people have speculated on what they think the prices for the various 2009 Panny plasmas will be. If I remember correctly, for the one you're looking for $2400.00 sounds about right. Also, the 720p X series are all ready out and the 50" is going for $1199.00 @ BB

So I'd say a safe GUESS would be $2199.99 for the 50” V, though I wouldn’t be surprised to see it @ $2499.99. Why they are so secretive about the prices & exact release dates? Who knows, probably waiting to see if the economy bounces back (LOL), so they can price the sets higher?

Panasonic will release official pricing sometime in the next two weeks.
There are plenty of dealers still with -800 and -850 models and you'll be able to pick one up if you don't like the MSRP's then.

Yea, I was seriously considering buying the 850, but the 24p flicker issue is a deal breaker. I'm hoping to grab a 50" + V series @ a good price (under $2K). Until then, I'll have to pick up a cheap 22" sammy to hold me over.
