I went to Best Buy today to buy one of the Bond films with a price match from Target.
They agreed to the price match, but would not honor the $5-off Bond Blu-ray coupon from QUANTUM OF SOLACE on the same purchase since it involved "double dipping." I tried to explain that the coupon was a manufacturer's coupon which would be paid by Fox to Best Buy regardless if I had a price match or not. They stuck to their belief that it was "double dipping." Am I missing something? ![]() |

Like most people in retail, they're idiots... else, they wouldn't be in retail. And before I start getting the hate replies, I was in retail for 14 years and you know I'm right. |

Yeah, some of them (a lot of them) are idiots. I was lucky when I got Bioshock at Walmart for 20 bucks. At least the CSM there was smart enough to say, "Hey, if the coupon works, give him the 10 bucks off." It's a coupon! Retailers get reimbursed for coupons. Try doing the price match with coupon at a different store. Hell, try Walmart.

Actually, I tried to price match 3 Bond titles and asked for the one $5 off coupon from Fox.
They said that if I wanted to use the coupon, I could use it on the third Bond on a separate transaction, but they couldn't price match on that sale. Instead, I just took the 2 Bonds with the price match, went to another Best Buy and they agreed to do the price match and the coupon on the third Bond title. |

Best Buy simply has no consistent policy from store to store. It all ends up being to the discretion of the individual employee you happen to get and the manager's general policy at each store. If you happen to have multiple stores in your area it might behoove you to test them out.

However it doesnt affect your bottom line overall, correct. And in all technicality, many coupons actually make the retailers money. If you read fine print on a coupon alot of them may say something about it being valued at 1-3cents or a 10th of a penny etc etc. The MFG actually pays that out as well. |
