Yes, I responded because I wanted to point out how stupid the person's post was. The person probably didn't even watch the trailer. Same goes for some of the other people that have posted. This was a book first, and a quite successful one. I only wish that I was the genius who decided to make movies out of the book series, because they and "hollywood" are going to be laughing all the way to the bank. If every person who read the books (millions of people) goes to see the films, then they will for sure be successful, and as time goes on, there will only be more people who jump on the bandwagon.

Well, yes and no.

If the movie is universally despised by the original fans like it was with Blood and Chocolate, you could have issues with the laughing... and the bank...

I read the books, I enjoyed them, personally i have to say twilight was a disappointment to begin with just like the 1st harry potter. I just don't think that movies based on books are better.

You mean that Underworld movie wasn't original?

House of Dracula did it first...?

In 1945 it was done before, who would have ever thought Vampires vs Werewolves... wow... I thought it was totally original with the bird in the leather getup.

i never said underworld wasn't original. yet, you did bring up a good point after all underworld was and wasn't original it was based of the Shakespearian play Romeo and Juliet. Don't get me wrong, but I think Hollywood needs to start looking to make more original flicks than based on something flicks thats all they have been doing lately and its been going on for a long time. I am thinking dog day afternoon, the silence of the lambs, the godfather, titanic, the 1st two terminators, forrest gump, star wars, 7even, snatch, gone with the wind, casablanca and such movies. those are classics and we don't see that much of them anymore

I resisted watching the first movie, in part because of all the hype surrounding it. In the end my love for vampire movies won out, and I watched it on blu-ray. I was pleasantly surprised.
