There is no news on Voyager on Blu-ray. Voyager (as well as The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine) were edited entirely in standard definition, so creating a high definition version for Blu-ray would require going back to the original film elements, re-editing the episodes together, and re-doing all special effects. While possible, it is not likely to happen anytime soon, especially for Voyager which is by far the least popular of the 3 Star Trek series this would need to be done for. Next Generation is more likely, but even that is not something that will definitely happen - only time will tell.

The next Star Trek series to see release on Blu-ray would most likely be Enterprise considering that is mostly HD-ready.

As much as I love some good Star Trek, Voyager just doesnt impress me as much as the other series. I would much rather see Deep Space Nine before Voyager.

I always liked Quark.

All ST will go Blu. It is only a matter of time. As mentioned, Enterprise should be next and it could come next year. As for the other 3, they are likely going to be released by production. Voyager could be 8-10 years off.

If an Amazon listing says "Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available" then that means it's just an Amazon placeholder - a page they've put up because a lot of people have searched for the item, but they don't actually have any real info on it. The Amazon placeholders don't mean anything, there is zero correlation between them and actual announced products - the product could easily never be announced.

If a distributor has actually told Amazon that the product is planned, then there will be an active preorder for it.

I wouldn't count on Enterprise being anytime soon either

The DVD sales were....worse than Voyager (Voyager sold decently in the EU because it was the first Trek many of them saw first run on a major station)

Some first week sales on Voyager domestically were in 4 digits, so do your own math there.

Amazon creates placeholders for popular searches, notice "signup to be notified when available"

I'm not surprised at those numbers considering Voyager wasn't all too popular here, and the sets were an unbelievable $120+ until just last year maybe. Like actually $120 even on Amazon, not just MSRP $120.

All i want is TNG, although the last 4 season of DS9 would be cool to own

I never much liked it in the first 3 seasons, I always equate the show getting better when sisko shaved his head (not the reason, but he shaved it right around the time the show found it's footing)

I have to agree that at some point in the future all of Star Trek will be on bluray. It will take quite a few years but I believe it will happen.

Default Voyager is the best trek had to offer

To all of you doging on Voyager, I hope you are all assmilated. Voyager was the best the very best star trek. All of them were exlient but Voyager was perfection, & if it wasnt for Voyager there would not be all the fancy effects seen on tv today like so many other things Star Trek brought into the world. Voyager pionneerd movie quality effects on a tv production budget. Besides Janeway is a goddess & I have have her sofa from the ready room. VOYAGER RULES and thats the end of it The Captain has spoken. Live long and prosper.
Unless you liked that Pice of shit new movie then I hope Cardassians eat your childern.

See this thread for news about TNG's upcoming blu-ray release. No idea how far they are along though, so I wouldn't be counting on VOY on blu in the near future.

Concerning Amazon stating Voyager would me on soon, The same thing happened when the Mary Tyler Moore was supposed to be released on DVD, It was released one season at a time, The last few seasons were released with a year between each season! I have hope it will eventually be released in my lifetime!

I don't think they have been passed over. The last season of TNG came out not to long ago. So maybe we'll hear something about DS9/Voyager in the summer or fall.

As insider "FrontierTrek" of Trekcore.com has said many times in the last 8 months:

"Hollywood certainly revolves around non-disclosure, especially with projects which are still being developed.

However - as I've done numerous times now - I'm publicly stating that CBS have no plans to do DS9 or Voyager at this time. Furthermore (and this is from multiple sources), it doesn't look like they'll be coming any time soon."

http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=231961&page=89

My translation: "It's dead, Jim."

Other insiders have said that the blu-ray revenue stream is crucially important, and didn't live up to expectations for Next Gen.

Bottom line is that it would cost probably double the c. $10 million they spent on TNG to rebuild DS9, but revenue would likely be significantly lower.

The only chance, as far as I can tell, is if a "sugar daddy" like Netflix or Amazon Prime steps in and pays for most of it in exchange for streaming rights in HD. But so far that hasn't happened.

There's optimism, and then there's blind optimism. Those who say "it's going to happen. I'm sure of it!" are in the latter camp imho. Who knows what the future will bring, but at this point odds are very much against it. Hope I'm proven wrong, but for now I stand by my guess that it's dead as doornail. Enjoy them at c. VHS quality till the end of time, bc that's probably as good as DS9 and Voyager are ever going to look.

Not enough people bought the TNG blu rays for them to justify a more expensive and surely even lower selling DS9 and VOY restoration. It's just that simple, and any blind optimism to the contrary is just that.

If more people bought these at $60 a pop on day one then DS9 would be coming, but they didn't, and thus it isn't. Remember that when you see people bragging about importing European sets for half the price years afterward.
