So nice to see Ryan Gosling and John Goodman in a movie together!

Glad it's not just me. I spent the whole film thinking "could they not get JG?" I enjoyed the film but it did feel really flat. I didn't feel any chemistry between the two (I always find them both dull).

The girl who played the daughter was amazing though. I'm glad we are finally past the days of constantly bad child actors.

I noticed some billboards in this during one of the driving scenes. They were both in the same shot pretty much. One was for "Jaws 2" and the other was for "Airport 1977". The reason I found them interesting is because both movies are very recent Universal catalog releases, but "The Nice Guys" was a Warner movie. Could Universal have paid WB to put those in there as a bit of sly advertising, or was it just a huge coincidence?

I don't see why Universal would pay for Jaws or Airport advertising at this time. Interesting point though

If Best Buy's listing is correct, the release date is 8/23. Link

Default No 4K UHD? Come on Warner!!

WTH Warner!? This great movie and KEANU are being overlooked for the new 4K UHD blu ray. Why? Why are you just picking certain titles "worthy" enough for a UHD release? ALL new titles should be released in the new format. How do you expect it to survive when you want people to "re-buy" older standard blu ray titles? This is pitiful how you are treating this new format. Jump in and stay in!

Wait a minute... that "Private Dicks" is the tagline? It's so close to the title that all this time, I assumed it was either the Canadian edition showing the French title, or Warner was pulling another Edge Of Tomorrow move and wanted us to start calling it "The Nice Guys' Private Dicks".

It's not just a brief tagline, IIRC It was also the original working title for the story, back before Shane Black pitched this as a series at CBS.

The worst part is Keanu and The Nice Guys are both getting VUDU UHD releases with Dolby Vision.

Exactly! It'll keep bugging me that I coulda gotten a better version and they're not releasing it. But digital will get it and no way I'm paying 30 bucks for digital 4k version when they would have included it in the code.

I would imagine that at this early stage on the biggest titles really sell enough on UHD to make it worth it. Give it time.

Just give it time and the price will go down. They always do.
