Wow, I considder myself to be some what tech savy but imagine how surprised I was to find out that regular audio CD playback is not supported.. Doh! Come on guys, a $1000.00 DVD player only plays DVD disks...

Actually, you should have said "Pioneer Elite Gen BDP-H1 not for CD's".

It's a disaster. Higher than 1k USD price but no CD's.

At least with the Sony gen1 stand-alone, it doesn't play audio cds BUT it it still 1k or under which isn't half-bad.

The Pioneer Gen1 Elite IS an insult IMO.
