I have to return some videotapes

Default Why so quiet with the PS3?

I have video through HDMI and sound through the red and white cables to an adaptor to 5.1 speakers.

I used this for the 360 and it worked great but with the PS3 it's really quiet. Any help?

i don't have a ps3... but do you have the audio settings on your ps3 set to hdmi?

the ps3 should automatically change audio and video to hdmi if you have the cable plugged in... you should check your audio settings on the ps3 to "not hdmi", or whatever it calls it for the analog rca's

Just be aware when turning up the internal volume. I've found that it adds distortion and muddiness to the track. There's nothing wrong with a higher volume level as long as the signal is clean.

I'll also add that the red/white cables only carry 2.0 channel stereo. If you want true 5.1 from the PS3 you need to use either an optical cable or the HDMI.
