Default Looking to upgrade my HDTV around Christmas

The title says it all...finally I will upgrade my 42" Vizio to something a little more respectable. I need help from you guys. I don't know my price range just yet, but let's say its around $2,000. I'm interested in your opinions on 42", 46", and 50" sets. I want a big one, but I don't want to sacrifice the quality for the size. I'll be using a PS3, Dish Network HD DVR, Xbox 360, Tivo series 2, and a Wii. I spend most of my time watching the HD DVR and Blu-rays. It's obvious that I'm looking for 1080p, but if there is anything like a 1080p/24 in that price range I'd like to know. Give me your experiences with your televisions and some opinions on what you think the best TV in that price range is. Thanks in advance for your help.

Sorry, can't help you out in this department. I've set aside twice the budget you have. So, as you can imagine, I don't bother paying attention to the models priced near the $2000 mark.

Now... if you are willing to double that estimated budget, the Sony KDL46XBR4 is a gorgeous 46" LCD with 120fps support. Also, the KDL52XBR4 52" model is also quite nice. But, beware the price. It could be a driving factor in your decision making process. I know that I'll be happy with it... the 52" that is.

If you want something other than an LCD or Plasma you can get the 60" Sony 60A3000.

It's $2000 and it's a great tv. Just came out the beginning of September and is getting awesome reviews.

I love it and it's 1080p/24

Same on screen menu as the PS3 as well.

I second this suggestion... 46" is about right for your budget. Of course you could get a higher quality 40" but (from experience) that's just getting small...

I think this is the best bet...the Sony XBR2's are probably nice but sony is up to the new xbr4 & 5's , XBR2 is outdated now.

the A3000 is 1080p/24 Hz, that would be my pick.
