The above two links are from ps3land.com and they talk about launch details coming up and how the ps3 isn't going to ship with an HDMI cable. There is some updated information on the ps3 at us.playstation.com in the ps3 section under about.

That sucks about no HDMI cable.

A few months back my uncle bought an HDMI cable for his DVD player and it was $100.

How much are they going for now?

Nice. I thought he spent alot on it in April for his DVD player. That was at Bernies and I think it was a Monster Cable so that's probably why. That's not all too bad then. Thanks for the info.

I think it's best that the ps3 doesn't ship with an HDMI cable because for starters, not everyone has a TV that can support HDMI, so with the ps3, you upgrade when you need to and you buy accessories like an HDMI cable when you want to. The thing with Microsoft is that they had an xbox 360 bundle, although it seems more cost wise to buy the core package and then buy other accessories as you need them. With Sony, it looks like you will get just the console, a controller, the ac and stero cables in the box along with any other accessories that you want to get for your needs.

You can always buy an HDMI cable seperately. I'm not even set up to use one.
