Sony Home Theatre System DAX265 with PS3

I bought this one during Black Friday at Best Buy. When I opened the box, it doesn't have HDMI Audio Pass-Thru & Digital Audio Optical Output. The only solution I can output Audio from PS3 is AV Output. If I buy HDMI receiver, will this work on this DAX265 and PS3?

do you know a link to the Sony DAX265, I couldnt find anything on it on the web. perhaps its a DAV-HDX265?

Are you asking that if you bought an HDMI receiver would the speakers still work? well from looking at the system its 3ohm...which makes speakers probably 3oh, so no, it would not be safe for the average receiver...which is in the range of 6-8 ohm impendence.

Honestly, I would try to sell it on ebay and just buy a new receiver.

...well, its HDMI OUT only, and no optical input...so its basically non compatible with the PS3...you could use the RCA red/white cables for audio, but thats not even true surround sound.

If I were you, id try to return it or sell it on ebay.

Then save up some money for an HDMI Receiver.
