Default Blu-Ray has won_Price drops?

Will there be a price drop in the cost of BD's? $30, or $100 for 3 movies is too much. I can get from 8 to 12 new DVD's for the same price. (ie., Master in Commander on DVD is only $7.50 & I expect the Blu version to be $29.99)

I have a humble 40 BD's & I like 'em a lot, but w/out some price cuts across the board I'll just go back to DVD's, cuz they're really not that bad, especially on a PS3. Plus, I can get a digital copy of it anytime to have on my new iPod, or for safe keeping on my network... Now that Wal-Mart's officially Blu, BD prices shouldn't be more than $19 for new a release. Also every BD should include a digital copy.

Yep. I use to pay more for DVDs when they first came out than with Blu-ray now.

I think only those that haven't gone through a new format adoption before are asking these types of price questions now.

yeah... I only have around 12 BDs because i'm always broke, not complaining tho... except Fox, I don't have any of there films because there $28, you'd think atleast there older titles would be a few dollars less.

You're paying the premium for better picture and sound quality.

No, they're not that bad, just quite inferior to Blu.

So it has been written, so it shall be done.

Seems to me, the price of DVD's is going up (but hey, isnt everything?). Not even a year ago, they had "select" new release DVD's at Walmart for around $13 and now they start at $18.
Now you only end up paying $10 more upgrading to Bluray

I think once the economy gets better the prices will get better. I have also noticed that some DVD prices have gone up. Patience is the key i guess.

Dear God, we went through this same topic last week. Enjoy your DVD's, thanks for playing and way to support the home team.

So I guess a company that spends their money on R&D,production, marketing, etc. should not be able to make money. How dare they.

I do sometimes get mad when I see a price drop on like Reign Of Fire for DVD to 7 bucks but Blu is 20. But its worth the extra money. I guess we have to pick which Blu's are REALLY worth it more wisely.

Lower prices arent coming. There is no more competition with another company to lower prices. Expect the same prices or an increase

That is complete crap and total trolling.
The lack of competition is better for the business because it lowers the cost for studios not to mention that there IS competition anyway from something called dvd.
Go back under your bridge.

Yeah I can imagine that you would think that they were high.
But for those with any sense movies are quite cheap if you bother to look around, people that quote msrp are idiots.
