I am with you on this, I find ways to pay for gas, but cannot justify the 25 - 35 price range for BDs. man I am hard pressed to spend 20 at times.

For my 14 MPG.... prices of gas are rough, but I'm sure the Europeans here will chime in with what REALLY high gas prices are. Americans don't have any room to complain if you ask me.

Besides, if you are THAT price sensitive to things like gasoline, you shouldn't be in the market for Blu-Ray or HD DVD, or Cable/Satellite Television for that matter. All of these things are consumer goods that the price sensitive shouldn't spend their money on....... it's like people on welfare (or Wel-Fate as I call it) that drink and smoke..... but I'll save that rant for another day.

cost of gas is filtered into everything including blu. the cost of shipping the blu, shipping the materials to make blu. it all comes back to us. thats why we bought a small vw for commuting. suv sits until we take a trip or go somewhere with the kids. and i dont use my truck that much any more, i miss it

I'll agree with you that Europeans have it rough, but they also have a Public transportation system that works. Thats something that besides NY, doesn't exist in America.

Default its NOT just the price of GAS

the cost of utilities have risen, severely in maryland. thus the trickle down affect has increased dairy, produce, other items at the grocery store.

I live about 2 miles from where I work so I still only fill up every three weeks or so. The higher gas prices suck but don't really put much of a dent in my standard of living.

Brits pay £18 ($36) a disc on Amazon.co.uk
Germans pay EUR 25 ($38) a disc on Amazon.de

Fox titles are $50 SRP in Canada (although we get a great deal on Lionsgate, the native corp).

Gas is not the only thing that is a bargain in America.

Don't know what it equates to for you guys but roughly over here in the UK we pay about £1.13 per litre so around $8.56 per gallon give or take..

Thats Petrol, Diesel is slightly more expensive.
