Default Does the cost of gas affect your BD purchases?

Dude! I dont think it will ever stop...$3.50 a gallon and now I cutting back on my BD purchases, sold my truck for a car just to have some money so I can still purchase blu-rays. Just want to know if its me or is this affecting everyone.

I paid 3.78 yesterday, and that was at the cheap place.

A little over a year ago I bought a Prius, which helps, but gas is still a pain, from my long drive to wrk. These past couple weeks I've spend 30 bucks per week on gas, sompared to the 20-25 I've been paying the past year. If I still had my old car though, I'd be paying 120 at LEAST.

I do notice myself staying in on weekends more. But that just means buying from Amazon, instead of the b&m stores, which works out since Amazon is usually cheaper anyway.

I take the bus so it's not affecting me right now, but it will later in the year when they'll boost pass price.

Currently in Quebec it's : 5.40$CAD per gallon (APPROX)

I hate these topics. I'm writing a white paper entitled, "Rising Gas Prices in a Troubles Market" where I more or less make the point that gas is not the issue, its the loans attached with the vehicles we drive.

Gas is such an issue because we don't see the value of it like other purchases. It is also something that we purchase more regularly. Most people buy gas and groceries on a weekly basis. There is not as much whining about the increase in food costs, but gas on the other hand...

Anyway, back to the thread. $3.88 roughly in San Jose, CA area. Expect it to hit $4 average across the US by summer, settling back to $3.50 - $4 average in the US by the end of the year. Like the previous post, Amazon = $0 in gas. If you still pay for shipping, get prime either by buying into it or selling your four extra spots.

I think raising gas prices is an issue. I think it's a factor with the increase in the cost of living. After all increasing gas prices will have an effect on food prices simply because it cost more to deliver them to the store.

People are whinning about the food prices. What people fail to understand that gas effects every product in every market. If gas goes up everything will go up. Without gas there is no product. Everything under the sun is plastic ever think of where that comes from? You got it oil. If you don't think that gas prices will not impact Amazon prices then you are crazy. They will pass the price onto you sooner or later. You may need to wait until your prime runs out but there may be a clause in there about that as far as I know.

Investors and tree huggers will continue to drive the price up. Investors will get away with it until people reduce consumption while tree huggers will only get worse.

Gas prices suck. I paid $3.52 a gallon on Sunday before it jumped up to $3.65 on Tuesday.

That being said, I have really cut back on my Blu purchases to only those AAA titles that I must have. I got Twister this week and I'm getting Narnia next week. I hope I can save up enough for V though!

I don't think it troubled me. It might trobled my parents because they're the one paying for both blu-rays and gas. They didn't tell me anything about saving tho(but i tried to save as much as i can).

Hasn't affected my purchases yet.

I don't really track the gas prices close enough to know what it is currently. Trying to work it out based on how much I paid last time to fill the truck, it's probably around $3.50 for regular unleaded ($95 / 27 gallons = $3.52). The car needs premium but I can't even guess on that one since I can't recall how much I paid to fill it last time.

I have been driving the car more though. The truck only gets around 14.x mpg while the the car gets around 19-22 mpg (around town) depending on how I drive it. But, since the car needs premium maybe it's all a wash in the end. I haven't tried to track that yet to see if it helps or not.

Now's the time to learn how to ride a motorcycle! You can get around 45 to 55mpg, you're allowed on HOV lanes and tolls are generally half price!

With all the money you save you can go get Wild Hogs on Blu-ray!

+1! I just finished having my Kawi ZX-6R painted and can't wait to get it back on the pavement. Sure it takes Hi-test Gas, but when you get 36mpg 'round town and 45mpg highway who cares! Alot better than the 16/19mpgs I get in my Jeep Liberty!

Prices haven't quite affected my BD purchases yet, but they have affected other areas of life. Like we don't go out to see movies in theaters as much but rather have Amazon ship us a BD movie and watch it. Having to cut down on the "Nights Out on the Town" too! O well, I guess that's just what they call 'Quality Time' when you're at home w/ the fam!

Unless you have to pick up the package, which for me on any packages either the mail man gets pissed sends it back to the post office you get a sign on your door that says you have x amount of hours to get your package before they send it back...

Or they give it to the office and that is a terrible punishment, for the office opens after I leave for work and closes before I get home, then I pray I can catch them during the weekend.

Oh and no they do not believe in leaving packages or putting them in the secure lock and key package receives.. which is best since someone peed in one of them, and I always wonder if a package would get blessed...

Gas is not too expensive yet, where I live you can drive in any direction and you will end up at a walmart... and walmart is closer then the post office, unless you count the grand praire one but we do not live in gp and thus it would be at the specific Arlington office.

Best buy is in a small ways away, through frys is on the other side of town takes 45 minutes to get over there in light traffic, over a hour if there is traffic.

But thats not important..

For I never have to worry about picking up a package from amazon, since amazon has never actually elected to send me anything ive ever paid for.

Hahaha whenever I make plans with my friends it always ends with..."so whos driving?"

Dont make any difference, as long as you have a car, you will drive it eventually and pay for the gas, period.

One of these will be my next car.

www.greenvehicles.com

As far as I'm concerned this is one of many alternatives that is innevitable.
Hopefully soon I will have one.

The truth to gas prices is it's not any one thing making the price go up as some have said. It's a great many things one of which is plain greed.
As soon as I can get off the gas tit I will.
