Burnout Paradise 5.0 surround sound?

When I play Burnout Paradise, no sound comes out of my subwoofer, and my sub just does the auto power off eventually. I am running the game in PCM over HDMI. Does this happen to anyone else who is running Burnout Paradise over HDMI to an HDMI receiver?

I noticed the exact same thing on my setup a few days ago. And I know for sure that the game supports 5.1 because I read the Criterion blog constantly. I haven't messed with any settings, but it technically should work given how I have everything configured.

The next Burnout update (1.2) is due out in a week from today. The best we can do is hope for a fix then.

It is good to know someone else is having the same problem, I wrote Criterion about it so, who knows. I saw in the list of patch fixes there are some sound fixes but none seem to be with the subwoofer, just balancing the center. Hopefully it sneaks in. Im thinking not a lot of people have played this game in PCM, and even less contacted Criterion about the issue.

I'll write them, too. Hopefully they can get out a fix with 1.3, along with those SWEET new (free) islands! I can't wait! Paradise is pretty much my favorite and definitely most played game on the PS3 thus far. I am 80% through the game and just noticed my subwoofer not kicking in a few nights ago. Now it will bug me until it's fixed.
