Would this work for a PS3 drive swap? - Blu-ray Forum

Has anyone done it with one or make an educated guess. It seems like it'd be ok spec wise, but I'd like to get a few second opinions before going further. Thanks in advance.

thats an external drive. are you wanting to swap the ps3 internal hard drive? then youll need something like

If you want to replace your internal Hard Drive in your PS3, any 2.5" SATA drive will work. But if you wanted to just add more space, you can use the external one you were looking at for back ups or to store pics, video, and such.

I got a 250GB WD Passport and cracked it open and swapped it out with the 20GB HDD. I broke the case on the passport but went out and got a case to put the 20GB in... so I have a nice portable 20GB HDD and the PS3 got a nice upgrade.

I don't know if this particular external can be opened like the WD though...
