Your choice. IMO, the PS3 isn't going to disappear anytime and its sales will pick up as more quality games get released.

Do you remember what the Xbox 360 sales looked like at this stage of the game last year? It wasn't anywhere near 600,000 in the US (I don't even think it was 600,000 in the world). Now, if you think about it, the Xbox 360 didn't have any competition at the time. The PS3 has sold over 1 million units in two months WITH competition (and very strong competition at that). First, the Xbox 360 has to beat the PS2 in Christmas sales before it earns my respect and I have a Xbox 360! Sony is still very much on top. 2 million PS2 sales over the holidays vs. Xbox 360 1.4 million (I believe). The PS2 is 6 years old! Xbox 360 will win what...LMAO!

I have no idea what you are saying here. Sales equals respect? Since when? Have you ever listened to pop music? That sells but the music completely lacks integrity as none of the artists even write their own music. So what does sales have to do with respect? You obviously have a lot of respect for the Xbox platform since you bought one.

My reason for posting the figures was not to highlight that the PS3 has some ground to catch up on the Xbox 360 in the console sales but the very small attachment rate of 2% for the Xbox 360 HD DVD addon.

HD DVD fanboys were saying how the HD DVD addon was going to outsell the PS3 because of the price and that the Xbox 360 consoles had already sold in the millions and that an extra $200 expense was only minimal for the users to watch HD movies. I would say a 2% attachment rate is very poor.

HD DVD fanboys will then say that every HD DVD addon sold will be used for movies and that every PS3 sold will not. I agree that not every PS3 sold will be used for movies but if only 13% of PS3 users used their PS3 for movies it would equal the HD DVD addon users. I would say looking at the Blu-ray movies sales figures that a lot more than 13% are using their console for movies.

I don't think "respect" is the right word.

Personally, for any of the consoles to be considered as "amazing", in terms of sales, they should beat the the PS2 by a significant margin.

I read somewhere that because the add on only has a 2% attach rate, only 2% of PS3 users can be counted towards the BD watchers!! lol

Agreed, the console most likely to beat the PS2 is the Wii, and then the PS3, the X360 doesn't have a wide enough appeal, beyond the billion or so FPS and a couple of western (non-Jap) RPGs, there are no good games.
