how do i get my external hdd to work with pc & ps3?
i can make it work with either or, but not both

Format the HDD as Fat-32, that should work...

I have 2 drives I move back and forth between the PC and the PS3, and once you format the external drive as FAT-32 (the same as the PS3's HD) it will read no problem.

If you use you PC/Mac to format it, you should be able to create two partitions, if you want to partitions. ...If not Paulness is right, just format as a FAT32.
