Help using an external HDD - Blu-ray Forum

I have a USB SATA extrenal enclosure that I ocasionally use for the PC to back up my HDD when I upgrade the PC. I recently bought a new HDD for the PS3 but unfortunetly it failed on me so now that I got my replacement I have a bit more stuff on the old HDD then before. Basically what do I have to do to get the PS3 to recognize the external HDD so I can back up to it? Thanks in advance

You'll need to format the HD to FAT32.

OK so once I format it to FAT the PS3 will recognize it? Naturally it's NTFS right now so I guess thats why it did not see it once I plugged it in.
