Ok, just curious if the PS3 can also play Divx movies? (like from a pro memory stick duo, etc.)

If you put Linux on it an get XMMS or mplayer you should be able to as Divx/Xvid is not too processor intensive.

I was under the impression that Divx came from one of the MPEG standards?

I'll also try the Linux route.

Linux is your best bet here until something new comes up or you can convert the movies to a file that will play on the ps3
