Default Going to purchase this TV, what do you think?

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Bravia-KD...9619160&sr=8-6

Getting it for $1,150.54. I'm not too sure what to look at when buying a tv, so I need to know if this is a good buy.

Looks good. I don't know where you're getting it from or if you're interested in purchasing it online, but for $10 more you can get the KDL-40v4150 from plasma bay ( http://www.plasmabay.com/product-son...-lcd-hdtv.html ) which is essentially the same TV but it has 1 more HDMI input and a few more unnecessary features.

Here are two tvs that will blow any of Sony's tvs out of the water. Trust me, been there done that with LCD's.

If your into Sports, any movie with fast motion in it, or videogames this is the only tv that you should be thinking about.

Man, sounds like you barely made it out of a tough neighborhood on a Friday night...

You've made a generic statement, about an entire class of video technology, without any supporting facts.

I've seen terrific plasmas; and horrible plasmas, that left phospor trails a mile long.

I've seen terrific LCD's; and horrible LCD's that had such vicious "screen door" video errors it was unbearable to watch.

The Sony model he cites doesn't have these problems. It's a fine unit, at a fair price.

Be fair in your assessments...or at least, be specific.

sony isn't a cheap choice but at the same time i believe the samsung a550 to be a better TV than the s series.

I disagree too, Sony is not a cheap choice at all.

I don't think that Sony has any current HDTV on the market though that compares with the Panasonic Viera and Pioneer Kuro lines; they are that good.

Sony made a mistake dropping plasma, then SXRD. They were both better than their LCD TV's.
