Default Good news Anime fans

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...n-in-september

According to the Anime News network, Anime made up 64% of BD sales in Japan during September!
Anime has made a huge impact on Blu-ray in Japan, and that means it is likely to make its way (eventually) to America (or at least the most popular titles). It will be easier for companies to release these titles to Blu, and this should also give them more incentive. I expect to see far more Anime Blu-rays showing up next year, considering over half the Blu-ray sales in Japan are anime. Also, Macross Frontier volume 2 sold MORE copies on Blu-ray than it did on DVD!

That should be interesting as Anime stores, Newtype USA, and Geneon Entertainment have gone out of business because of lack of sales. As much as I hope we get some of the better series and movies on Blu, I can't see them aggressively making the jump. I could more see them going with the top sellers to test the waters. I personally would not double dip on almost anything outside of Studio Ghibli movies.

That is good news, I never got the chance to get a lot of Anime on DVD, they are not easy to get over here.

I tend to agree actually. There has been so much bad and mediocre news related to anime lately, that with news like this, the remaining companies are likely to at least test the waters. I think this is promising, but only on a few select titles would I double dip, mainly the Ghibli titles. Although a few series would make the cut for me as well (say... Cowboy Bebop and the like).
