Default Blockbuster Video Canada-Save $8 On Select WB titles when you trade in the DVD

Just read this on their website. "Save $8 on 25 select Warner Bros. Blu-ray titles when you trade in the dvd versions." It could be worth checking out.

It would be if blockbuster's prices were'nt so high for blu's. That $8 would only bring the price down somewhere around the same as most other stores.

Also during this month, there are supposed to be 20 titles available as part of a 2 for $30 deal. The pics show The Terminator, Speed, Pathfinder, X-Men: The Last Stand as titles available.

Anyone know the current BlockBuster price for Superman Returns? That's the only one of the list I haven't already bought in BD and have the DVD for. If it was $8 off a reasonable price, it'd be great!

yeah, see this is the reason i myself did not start this thread.. bcuz most of blockbusters prices are unfortunatly too high compared to other retailers (ex: Future shop) so getting $8 off superman returns which btw saliger is priced at $31.99 at the moment, is like getting it for $23.99 (which is the reg price at F.S anyway) or maybe even $21.99 so it dosent become too worthwhile. and blockbuster does not pricematch during the year (only at christmas time for customer service) so you cant even do that. believe me, i own 3 movies on the list on reg dvd which i'd love to bring in and get the $8 off, unfortunatly their prices deter me and i an employee of the store would rather to elsewhere to try and stretch my dollar.

I would trade in I Am Legend and 300 but I don't think the prices at BBV are that great for those 2

Odd my local BBV has I Am Legend at 29.99. Not worth it....on another note though - Superman Returns is priced at $19.99....

LOL... probably mispriced. i'd pick up the superman returns thou for that price or trade in your to get it for $12. theyd have to honor it if it says thats the price. i'll double check the the i am legend for you thou.and i appologize in advance if any of the price i quoted you are wrong cuz they do price change items every so often. and i might just not have been aware of it

Not your fault man. I find the local BBV sometimes don't know about things. I had to go in and ask about the trade in program since no one there knew about nor were there any signs.

On another note, my Superman Returns is a previously viewed one that has Rogers Video on the inner ring of the disc. Is that usually a problem?

oh the one that your trading in? no not at all. i myself have dealt with plenty of customers that come in to trade in their movies which have the ring and i dont give them any problems. long as the disc in is good condition thats all the staff generally tend to concern themselves with.

If only you worked in one of the Victoria locations. I imagine you'd be a pretty popular person. Any luck with checking on the price of I Am Legend?

i believe working in retail, our first job should be customer service. making the person happy (as long as their requests are within reason) bcuz then they'll leave satisfied and be more likely to come back. unfortunatly, i know not everybody shares the same approach to this subject as myself, as i've come across more than a few managers working here in the toronto that are more concerned with sticking to policy than helping out customers. oh and yes, i checked it last night before the store closed. it rang up as $34.99 in the system. sorry for my earlier misquote.

No worries. I did end up going back and trading in Superman Returns. Sure enough it was priced wrong at $19.99 so they had to honor it. The clerk also didn't know about the trade in program and was only going to give me $2 for my original DVD. Fortunately a manager was there, and showed her the rack of BD's that were part of this, showed her the literature from the binder etc etc...

She also didn't know how to ring it all in. Again fortunately, the manager or supervisor was there and showed her how to do it. She thanked me for being patient as I was there for roughly 15 minutes while she sorted this all out. I told her me getting angry or impatient doesn't make her want to get the work done any quicker In the end, all is good. Too bad other movies weren't labelled wrong.

On another note, turns out that WalMart has 300 for $19.99 on BD. Not a bad deal. So I could get that, still trade in 300 and get a $2 credit and the movie would have been $17.99 to upgrade to BD. Not a great deal, but better than nothing.
