Default Pioneer Elite differences

I am wondering what the main differences is in these pioneer elite receivers. Anyone who has them, please chime in.

Yamaha HTR6160
Pioneer Elite VSX-91TXH

I see one has certain THX cert. Do they both have HDMI 1.3a? I know one does. They both have the smae wattage I think. Which one is newer? I need preouts also. Overall which is a better receiver? thanks guys

In general, the pioneer elite line would stomp a mid-range yamaha. Everything would depend on particular models though. I recommend you do a little more research. You should be able to answer all your questions on your own.

Good Choice. You will love the Elite. I have one and would not trade it for anything else. VERY high quality.

Absolutely. The only differences are the number of HDMI inputs as you go to higher models.

You'll love this unit.

Love my 94, but its alot of money to drop on a receiver. I picked my due to the ethernet function with HMG, Internet music or Home Media Server.

ps. and it damn sure is purty

Well, I admit it was a bit simplistic, but the rest of the differences are pretty subtle. Depends on what you're hooking up, I guess.

I have both of these receivers and love them. They are almost identical (minus a few watts on the 92) Magnolia was recently selling them for around $650.00 to make room for the new models- a killer deal!

Yes, I love my 03 - tempted to check out if they've discounted the 94, might have to spring for it! The new models, the 01 and 03 are INCREDIBLE, but the older 91, 92, and 94 are still incredible. I'd love to get my hands on the 94.

What are the new models coming out?

got it and it sounds alot warmer than my onkyo. The mcacc is a little different than audyssey since they let you fine tune everything. anyone that has some mcacc eq settings that sound good, let me know or pm them.

That's simply a matter of personal opinion. I prefer the sound from several Yamahas over Pioneer Elite models, and I'm not the only one. Both Yamaha and Pioneer make great receivers.

The 91 doesn't pass Deep Color... and a few other things. I forgot but I was going to get it about a month ago till I realized that. My friend owns the 92 but the 91 just isn't as good.
