That's a pretty impressive bundle. No doubt it'll be attractive for a lot of new buyers looking for price point and perks. (Wish they had some pics.)

I wonder if it will be upgradable to accomodate DTS MA HD?

Very impressive. Way to step it up. Even tho we all know its a re-badged gen 1 panny, the new price and free BD's is a huge step in the right direction.

No DTS HDMA, I think. Not unless they changed the hardware specs.

This is an awesome price at $599. It not only is $700 cheaper but includes 5 free BLU-RAY movies. This player will be selling in retail stores for $599 with a movie bundle. It is possible discount mail order stores might be selling this player for $499 soon.
The only major thing I wish this player had is 1080P/24 support. The second generation Sony for $599 is more attractive player for people that own a 1080P/24 display that refreshes at multiplies of the original frame.

Default Panasonic Announces DMP-BD10A

This is very interesting. The "new" list price is $600. The same as the upcoming Sony S300 player. The announcement at Blu-ray.com indicates internal decoding for Dolby True HD and DTS-HD. I thought I had read that the Panny DMP-BD10 ( with recent FW update ) could ONLY decode the DTS-HD HR signal and did NOT have circuitry capable of decoding the DTS-HD Master Audio signal ??? Can anybody help out here? Thanks

What's even cooler is that it appears to be bundled with 5 free movies...

1) POTC 1
2) POTC 2
3) Fantastic Four
4) Transporter
5) Crash

Now that's quality!

So I haven't see any mention of when this player is available. On Panasonic's website I can't even find a section for blu-ray players, not even the current model...

I'm trying really hard to hold out for a player that does everything, but they are making it really hard for me.

This price is great $600 bucks for a major name brand player is awesome. Hopefully it has HDMI 1.3, so the DTS-MA tracks can be bitstreamed to a newer receiver. I expect people to be snapping this player and the new $600 Sony up like crazy come late summer/fall/holiday season.

The movies included look good as well, it is nice to see that they did not just give you a bunch of second rate films with the player. The only better thing would have been to let you pick out any 5 blu-ray movies.

This sounds like a really good player and the bundled movies are just gravy. What a great way for someone to take the plunge into Blu-Ray. I like how they're mixing it up with titles from different studios too...and they're all BD exclusive to boot!

Pretty much. It does nothing that the current player. It doesn't mention if the player has HDMI 1.3 or not, which it should. It did mention that it had Ez-Sync, which probably is Panasonic's implementation of the HDMI 1.3 control feature.

It has been posted on AVS that it is the exact same hardware; the only change is that it has the latest firmware and the lowered price (the current model has been discontinued and they are only selling what is already in the pipeline.) So, it will not support DTS-MA and still no word on if it will support 1080p/24.
