Has any one heard if Panasonic is going to make a 2.6 firmware update for the DMP-BP10A?
I have emailed them several times about issue with some of the newer Fox movies that freeze after the Main menu. So far I have had issues with Space Chimps, Horton Hears a Who, Babylon. Last edited by sunedaz68; 03-25-2009 at 11:58 PM. Reason: Change to new title |

Just found out on the web for all of you having issues loading the newer Fox movies that they have come up with a new theft deterant on thier disks to keep people from coping them and this appears to be the reason certain players will not play them. Fox states it is not thier problem and you should contact your manufacturer for firmware updates.
I feel it should be up to Fox to notify the manufactures and work with them when they make modifications to thier products so they work in players when they hit the market. It flat out stinks when my KIDS can not watch the movies I buy them because of Fox security issues. Or that I can not watch my new action movies for the same reason. For what it's worth, Obama, don't bail Fox out if they ever get in to trouble. |

Anything that was made after october 2008 won't play. X-MEN come out in APRIL i hope they will have a firmware update by then. My player is the Panasonic BP10A too i hope it gets fixed soon. |

So, Fox comes up with a new anti-theft, non-standard (as usual) scheme, and all of a sudden, this is not their problem, but the player manufacturers'?
What about us users? We spend money on new titles, and can't have them played unless we update our players to the nth firmware version? When this is going to end, I ask you? How many new firmware versions will be needed until all BD titles are playable? Isn't it a hassle to keep your player up to date? Or what about people that are not savvy about firmware issues or simply don't know how to update their players? What are these guys at Fox thinking? That every home user is potentially a thieve? That, one day after they release this so-called copy protection, fair use won't compel companies like Slysoft to counteract, and in the end this affair will turn into an exercise of futility? The penalty will come to the end user himself, as ever! I praise Fox films and would like to purchase new editions of the things I already own on DVD. If anyone at Fox is reading this, please let me get something out of my chest: STOP IT!!! |
