I've just used Deep Discount promo code HEARTS (expires soon!) to get 15% off UHDs of The Sacrifice and The Searchers to be delivered to my Stackry address, so that's me in prep for the hopefully forthcoming flash sale

Hopes for this week's annoucements:

Any Powell & Pressburger - but most especially A Canterbury Tale and IKWIG! Pretty please Mr Criterion!

Also Zabriskie Point

That's a possibility I've brought up before to try to make sense of Criterion "sitting on" its license for The Wedding March for so long. The licensing arrangement behind the Browning set (two films from WB and one from GEM) makes a Stoheim set with two films from WB and one from Paramount seemingly plausible. I'm not saying that it is happening, but it's not a "wacko" idea at least.

There are really no wrong choices with Charlie Chaplin. (Well, Monsieur Verdoux...)

Though as you stated, that's a film I see Flicker Alley and/or Eureka releasing. I am also quite interested in Milestone's release of Queen Kelly (1929).
For I Am Cuba, Milestone did the restoration while Criterion released it on 4K UHD/Blu-ray. Perhaps it's possible that Queen Kelly also gets released on disc by Criterion?

Honestly, Criterion has been quite unpredictable for me so I'm just going to pick random films. Yes really so my guesses are

A random Japanese film
Rage in Harlem
Ladies and Gentlemen the Fabulous Stains
A random French film
A random Italian Film
A big silent film that hasn't gotten a Blu-Ray release yet

I'm probably wrong on most of these, but after February there just hasn't been any new to Blu-Ray titles that have excited me.

Let me strongly recommend THE CIRCUS (1928). Chaplin wasn't too happy with it due to his personal life at the time he made it--so he ignored it after initial release and it wasn't distributed for decades so became less remembered. But that was unfair to the work: it is very good and was very successful at the time. Nominated for three Academy Awards but then the very early Academy took him out of the first competition by giving him a special award "for writing, acting, directing and producing The Circus".

THE CIRCUS has a fantastic comedic hall of mirrors sequence that has to be the inspiration for Orson Welles's tense thriller hall of mirrors sequence in THE LADY FROM SHANGHAI 19 years later.

I know AOUS was the same thing as WALL-E, where the director was the driving force.

I'm also shocked Disney didn't shoot both directors down. I guess that's been my real question all along. Not how did it happen, I know that answer, but why did Disney even allow it, and why don't they allow more of their stuff out?

The thought of a several-dozen-disc, multi-cut, Stroheim triple feature, with Greed as its main attraction makes me wet...

Despite my Spidey senses being weak with the Criterions this month, here's my predictions:

Definitely:
-Something from Japan
-At least one of the Best Picture nominees, most likely either Emilia Perez or Flow
-At least one Blu-to-4K upgrade, not sure of the age

Maybe:
-P&P, Kubrick, Scorsese
-Brazil 4K
-The Wild Bunch 4K
-Maybe one non-Japanese DVD makes the jump
-Something silent???

Not happening:
-No LD-exclusive title makes the jump this go-round

Six total releases.
