Yeah, I'm not the type to watch specific movies at specific times of year, but even if I was I can't fathom also thinking they have to be released at that time of year. The best version of that argument is that it makes no sense to release horror in November or Christmas movies in January. But then, I just last week watched a movie I'd bought in 2015, so...

I do want it in November for the next sale. I said I'm surprised they didn't push it off another month given how big of a title it will be and a means to make as much off at SRP as possible.

I mean, I assume they release the big titles in July/Nov for those sales because they drive way more people to buy the movies than would otherwise get them at release, so that's a lot more money upfront

Exactly, November is when people do the bulk of their holiday shopping anyways. Plus, Criterion's December slate is usually smaller (more obscure) compared to November.
