I saw Terminator 2 in theaters and I wasn't even a teen yet. My mom was cool like that.

There were plenty of R rated movies I wanted to see that I was allowed to as a kid and there were plenty that my parents made me wait till I was older. Fox shouldn't have to create another edit of the movie just so young children can see it. That would be like editing South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut because children seen it was a cartoon and wanted to see it.
Yesterday I saw a bunch of petition posts fir a PG-13 Deadpool movie obviously by people who don't know what Deadpool is.
The way I see it is either, be a parent who goes and sees it with their kid or do the research and see if your child is adult enough to watch the film or they need to shut the f*** up cause they don't know the source material.
Here's to more R-Rated superhero films, hopefully doing well and angering the PC crowd.

Don't worry. They won't make a PG-13 cut of the film. Think about it. All of this controversy regarding the rating is just going to get more people interested in seeing it to find out a)exactly why it is rated R, and b)if it's appropriate for their kids to watch. If anything, NOT making a PG-13 cut will generating a surge in interest.

I doubt anyone at Fox is surprised. What that article doesn't mention, is that China is notorious for denying any international (not just Hollywood) films access to Chinese theatres. In 2015, only 34 foreign films were screened:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...ll-2015-832925

So of course, when you're only allowed a few spots in a 34-title quota, you're not banking on China for anything except the biggest films that have Chinese appeal.

I give Fox credit for saying that trimming the film to China's guidelines would destroy the film's story. Which also means that the PG-13 petition has received the triple headshot of death with this news. Sorry kids, the R-rated content is important to the plot, a PG-13 cut would just be a confused mess. Though, I'm still confused on how Kingsman was allowed but Deadpool isn't; did the China version of Kingsman cut out anything (I know several places cut the church fight scene)?

Terminator 2 was also my first R rated movie (at home) and I was around 7-8. Heck I was allowed to watch T2 before The Terminator. Finally I was able to watch an edited version of the original on TV. It wasn't till I was about 13 that I seen it unedited.

Yes, about five minutes of Kingsman was cut for the Chinese release:

Things suck. People need a R-rated movie right about now.

Only review I care about is the theater employee that shares his thoughts on every film I buy tickets to.

For what it's worth, I was one of the people there, and I enjoyed it a lot. It's a ton of fun, lots of great action (it's really, really well shot), and it's absolutely hilarious. I had a blast, and I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

I think fans are really going to love it, and I think audiences will enjoy it too, even if they aren't familiar with the character. This one could have Kingsman legs, as long as WoM is there.

Also, stay for the post credit scene.

It falls to the middle of my rankings of the overall series:
  • Days of Future Past (Rogue Cut)
  • X2
  • The Wolverine (Unrated)
  • Deadpool
  • First Class
  • X-Men
  • The Last Stand
  • Origins
