I'm hoping it will but judging from the progression of the trailers, I think it will more then likely will. They are making Deadpool more and more like Deadpool with each trailer.

A studio watches Marvel's success... Panics... Declares they're creating a Cinematic Universe for a major franchise (DC, Ghostbusters, MIB, Jump Street, Teminator, etc)... They f**k it up... Reboot the franchise.

But just like Batman is Batman, Colossus is Colossus. So I don't see the point there lol You can spin it how you want I guess to make personal comparisons/ itemize favorites but it honestly makes no logical sense unless they'll actually be tied, so I was just pointing out it seems equally silly as comparing Nolans movies

If on the other hand you're saying they're linking the universe and I'll find out when viewing the movie thats different.

Again I don't care as its simply an opinion, but until they actually tied them all together for a future meet-up or potential interaction. I'd never try to rank them against other films, simply due to ties from comics and no actual on screen ties, and really no basis of comparison.

But totally entitled to your opinion no doubt there.

I'm telling you, the series is tied together. That's my point. It's not Colossus is just Colossus. I've seen the film, and this is grounded in the current X-Men series that Fox has, and it's setting up to use him in a big capacity later. It's not an opinion, it's in the film. You'll see when you see it, which is why I'm able to compare it to the rest of the series, and put it as a ranking into what is already established.

I'm glad to hear they're connected, but even if they aren't, you can rank it against any film if you so choose to.

Heck, I bet Reynolds himself is ranking it against all the other comic book films he's been in... and thinking "This is the one!"

The Wade Wilson in "X-Men Origins" is the same Wade Wilson in "Deadpool". His life just went differently because the actions of Wolverine in 1973. Team X was never formed to begin with.

Said that, we must suppose his agility in "Deadpool" is mutant-like, exactly like it was in "X-Men Origins".

About his age, I just hope they will turn him into Deadpool in the nineties, to make up for that.

When does this movie take place? I thought it was the present, but it would be cool if it took place in the early nineties, when the character was actually created in the comics.

While they may be in the same continuity, is it possible to JUST watch Deadpool? Like, it's ending doesn't lead into X-Men or something? It looks like it could stand apart for the most part?

This thread is 7 years old, and the movie is just now being released? After seeing the teaser on TV a few days ago, I thought this Deadpool was just another Spiderman sequel because the costumes are very similar.

Deadpool has an unhealthy obsession w/Spider-Man.

I haven't even heard of Deadpool until now because, I was never a fan of comic books (even as a child), and have never read them. So this Deadpool character is all new to me!

My avatar has Deadpool doing one of many Classic Spidey comic cover poses.

Can't wait to see the movie and good to hear Walt approves as we have many similar taste in movies.

Cheers,
CC-

that's awesome!!!

i love the classic Spider-Man swining pose that Deadpool ripped off.

i was tempted to message Walt to find out if Jackman has a cameo as Wolverine in the movie.....i decided not to.

we'll see how long that lasts.
