Sexual 'acts' do not define someones sexuality, WHO they are sexually attracted to does. There are plenty of gay men who don't indulge in 'that' particular sexual act.

Deadpool combines the superhero origin story aesthetic of other Marvel films with the cinematography and subversiveness of Fight Club. This may not be your parents' superhero film, but, as Deadpool himself states, it's more of a love story than anything else, and, as such, it's not a half bad choice for Valentine's Day weekend. Ryan Reynolds is good for the title role that requires him to combine the personas of his recent action roles with the wit of his Van Wilder days. Morena Baccarin, whom I adore because of her roles in Firefly and V, is my favorite highlight of the film as the love interest (or "Hot Chick" as the opening credits appropriately call out). I never read most of the original comics from which these Marvel films are based, but Deadpool, in this movie adaptation, is a fun antihero of sorts who drops constant sly commentary while he's shooting, slicing, and dicing. He also has the coolest costume of the Marvel universe.

I'm glad this film is doing well because Fox never really wanted to go ahead with it and if it wasn't for the fans putting the pressure on after the script was "leaked" on the internet, it would probably still be sitting on the shelves at Fox. So hopefully now they can see there is a strong fan base for this character and will show support for at least a trilogy of films and even a cameo or two in future X-Men films...

My biggest surprise is what they have actually accomplished with a budget under 60 million. If I didn't know any better I would have thought it was your standard 200 million budgeted X-Men film...I love how he joked about the low budget in the film too...lol

It's not just the Deadpool fanbase, or even the Marvel fanbase. I know people who aren't really fans of either that really want to see this movie. Hopefully R-rated movies are making comeback.

Just got home from my second viewing and loved it just as much as I did the first time. My showing was 3/4 full and over half the people clapped at the end.

I only had one trailer that I had yesterday and that was Hardcore Henry. The rest were:

Eddie the Eagle
Purge 3
Gods of Egypt
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates
The Brothers Grimsby

Solid flick, but not great for me. I felt the fourth wall breaking was a little overkill, and it overall feels a bit disjointed. There are some genuinely great moments though, such as breaking his hands and foot. Reynolds definitely felt born to play the part, and I enjoyed all the characters for the most part. Definitely glad the movie is going to be a big success. I'd love to see what they will do with a bigger budget.

Funny and entertaining movie! Ryan did a great job as Deadpool, which made everything else work IMO.
