Caught a late 12:30am Imax showing last night with my wife. We both enjoyed it a lot more than expected. Beautiful gore, great fighting scenes and lots of laughs. Some jokes fall a little flat but that's ok. I was grinning throughout the whole movie. Loved all the references. I'm sure I missed a couple but that's all the more reason for multiple viewings. Oh and Colossus, he was so bad ass! It was great seeing him done right.

Without spoiling tagging everything, the best way I could describe the movie was a comic book version of Shoot 'Em Up, but as funny / more funny than The Hangover. They didn't hold back with this.

It's part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to me. It's THAT good!

Soundtrack was great.

Gina Carano did well in the role she was given.

While I enjoyed Daniel Cudmore in the role before, I appreciate the fact Colossus had a Russian accent and got more screentime in this than the entire X-Men quadrilogy combined.

I also enjoyed the NegaSonic character. Her outfit was great.

Sooo Stephen Lang is all over twitter saying he wants the part. He's who I instantly thought of for Cable.
I like Lang, but he's too old for the part at 64. Gerard Butler would be my choice similar to how he was in Gamer.

I'll be the first to say it here: retire Jackman and give us an R-rated solo Wolverine movie..... WITH costume! It could be a lead-in into a worthy X-men reboot, complete with Deadpool's Colossus! Oh, and keep Singer and his posse as far away from it all as possible!

If Deadpool is only at the level of most of Marvel's output, I will be deeply disappointed so I hope that's really not the case. Plus this is Rated R, would hope it pushes more boundaries than any PG-13 comic book film would dare to push.

Guess I'm in the minority that doesn't want Wolverine's iconic costume. It is one of the many comic book outfits that would look ridiculously stupid in real life, like Hawkeye's iconic outfit. Just look at the non-MCU Captain America outfit.

I honestly don't care about Fox execs ...
I'm mostly happy for Ryan Reynolds, who has put a lot on the line to make this movie happen, which he had been trying for years.

Lots of movies coming up we want to see, but we'll try to catch it one more time.

Deadpool's outfit works because it is a simple design. It is basically a mercenary outfit that is heavily colored red. It isn't some thing a fashion designer made for a catwalk.

No, Wolverine's outfit is a comic outfit. It has all the flare of one from the ears to knee high boots with a design cut.

Deadpool's outfit has no flare to it.

That comes from being a rip off...

Forgot to mention the score on Wednesday, I love a quirky soundtrack but the score and its MJ style themes was stunning

Fox needs to throw as much money as it takes at Hugh Jackman to get him to be Wolverine in Deadpool 2. Seriously, figure something out, because I want to see Wade and Wolverine go toe-to-toe, correctly, this time.

He isn't a ripoff character, if he was then he would be the exact same as Deathstroke. Last I checked, Deadpool and Deathstroke are basically polar opposites.

There is a stronger argument that Hawkeye is a ripoff of Green Arrow.

If you are a fan of the character and or his place in the Marvel world I honestly don't know how anyone could rate this as not a 5/5. They literally hit it out of the park. The only people I could see having an issue with the movie are. Non-Marvel fans, fans who never heard of deadpool, or just random people who stumble into the movie horrified.

To me they did Colossus so well, I mean literally that's how I've always imagined him since the 90s cartoons...

Reynolds I hope if this thing goes massive and we're talking 3+ sequels sticks with it. But if not I bow down to him for making this franchise worthy of respect. Because I've always felt its been that way.

The movie just nails the character... My only complaint was Ajax and honestly throwing cable at this film to early would have been a disservice. Or Carnage or any of the big big level bad guys. So I guess he served his purpose lol.

So like I said unless you just have 0 history of the character and wondered on in after watching Captain America 1&2 at home, and think my god this isn't Marvel. Or came with your 12 year old son because you're oblivious to marketing and now scared and horrified. This movie did everything right, and its pacing was fantastic literally perfect pace.
