Deadpool may be the weakest R rated major comic book adaptation.
Even Kick Ass 2 and Blade Trinity??

Everyone has a right to their opinion of course but that to me is fairly bizarre.

i'm pretty forgiving when it comes to movies in general......was even more so back when Blade 3 came out......but even my younger self knew Blade 3 was pretty weak.

ironically, Reynolds was the best part of that movie.
his opinion was void when he mentioned kick ass 2, and blade 3

Deadpool is the best thing to happen to both comedy and superhero movies in a long time.

Deadpool actually told us a story, made us laugh, and acknowledged that
[Show spoiler]studios are cheapskates
, that when that happens there's always something that's going to be missing
[Show spoiler](other X-men aside Colossus and Negasonic)
, it skewered our obsession with celebrities (including Reynolds himself), it showed us that life can actively be crap and out of our control, yet somebody can love us despite all that anyway, that not all superpowers (or actions) come without consequence, that our personalities and who we are need not fundamentally change even if we are presented with life-altering circumstances, that fear of rejection often works only to our detriment, that we can't do everything alone, that sometimes you just have to suck it up and
[Show spoiler]live with a blind black woman because she's just what you need in your quest for vengeance
, and that you should always have a
[Show spoiler]cutout of Hugh Jackman's face
at the ready just in case somebody rips off your superhero mask.

I honestly haven't laughed so hard at a movie in years, and only one joke was obscure enough that I didn't quite get it (which I'm positive will be remedied on repeat viewings).

I agree. I loved his mutant powers: agility, reflexes, accuracy.

I loved everything about his portrayal and then they butchered it with the crap they pulled. Can't say the irony of him having his mouth sewn shut when he's called the Merc with a mouth wasn't funny, but it doesn't last cause it was a travesty how he was handled overall when he went all Baraka from Mortal Kombat

Only a few hours left for Oscar voting. Too late for a write-in campaign for an ineligible movie?

I thought that was a great reference in this movie - when Ajax says he should sew Wade's mouth shut. I imagine it would be a very reasonable reaction to just how annoying Wade would be if you were in his presence. And an obvious dig at Origins. It was written in a way that didn't seem like a simple rehash of Origins just for the sake of a joke setup though.

Most movies do make most of their box office in their first two weeks, just the way it is. Deadpool is going to have a good run till March 23rd though.

This was pretty good! The most fun I've had in an action movie since Guardians of the Galaxy.

But... uuuummmmm...... this wasn't an action film.

[Show spoiler]It was a romantic comedy anti-hero revenge film.

Caught the movie last night - IMO it's best enjoyed with a near-full theatre so you can share in the jokes

Agreed. Biggest laugh I got from my audience was
[Show spoiler]when Wade dropped the Ajax joke
.

The best part was when he turned into Scott Adkins!

I've watched this movie yesterday in IMAX; the plot was a little bit weak
[Show spoiler] he fights the villain in the beginning of the movie then fights the same villain again with his sidekicks at the end of the movie
The movie was overloaded with sexual innuendos and violence
[Show spoiler] I am no prude but the movie didn't take a break; churning up on a minute basis dick jokes turns the movie into a brainwash that dick jokes are funny which some of them are but the other 3/4 are forced and you basically shake your head and say did I miss my laugh cue, the violence was a bit too much too
; the movie is
[Show spoiler] 95% sex 5% material
which is a downer and the fact leading up
[Show spoiler] to his cancer is taken out of wood lock, a very bad scene in the movie, it basically makes no sense.
Otherwise, the comic relief is
[Show spoiler] the main driver of the movie which is the most enjoyable part of the movie.
I understand that some people would go out of the movie before it ends
[Show spoiler] it is a little too sexual and if you don't like hearing dick jokes like every second, you will have to pass your way
