If this movie ever gets made and is R rated. It's gonna be by FOX. No way in hell would Marvel/Disney ever attempt to make this movie. So wishing all stuff go back to marvel is silly. Blade and Punisher are just gonna sit around collecting dust. Until they maybe perhaps try selling the properties again. That or they PG-13fly those characters.

The difference is Marvel is under its own banner which is Marvel Entertainment. Touchstone is the same way and they have put out pleny of R rated movies. Disney just owns them. Just like Touchstone they are free to make R rated films of they want to. All they have to do is put them under the Marvel Knights banner if they dont want them connected directly to the MCU and they will be good to go.

Ryan Reynolds Reacts to Deadpool Test Footage Response

Back in July, a sequence of test footage for the planned Deadpool feature film leaked online and was quickly pulled down by 20th Century Fox. Despite the overwhelming positive reaction to the footage there has still been no more forward momentum on the film but in a recent interview star Ryan Reynolds seems to indicate that the fanfare certainly made them feel better about working on the project.

“There was such an overpowering reaction to the footage, you sort of feel like, ‘Oh, so we weren’t crazy for our reasons for loving this character, for loving this role.’ It’s interesting to see the power of the Internet. It’s awe-inspiring, actually,” Reynolds told the Niagara Falls Review (via ComicBook.com). “And it’s neat that Twitter and Facebook and Instagram can move mountains when used in the right way.”

Deadpool has been in development for a number of years, but despite fan demand has never gotten the official green light. Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick penned the script for the film, which has director Tim Miller attached to helm.

'X-Men' Spin-Off 'Deadpool' Gets Winter 2016 Release Date

At the the same time, Fox takes 'Assassin's Creed' off the summer 2015 calendar, while shifting 'The Fantastic Four' and 'Paper Towns'


Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel Comics' are moving ahead with the long-gestating X-Men spin-off Deadpool.

On Thursday, the studio announced that the movie will hit theaters Feb. 12, 2016. Tim Miller is set to direct the film, with Ryan Reynolds long rumored to star, although no deal is set.

Fox made other changes to its release slate, including taking Assassin's Creed off the 2015 summer calendar. The movie was set to open Aug. 7, but won't be ready in time, according to insiders.

As a result, the Fantastic Four reboot will move from June 19, 2015, to the Aug. 7 spot, while YA film adaptation Paper Towns — based on the book by John Green — will move up from July 31, 2015 to June 19.
