Watched the trailer and mostly enjoyed it. Was worried because the old test clip didn't do much for me, but this trailer was pretty funny and looked great. Not a fan of potty-humor but the rest was witty. Looking forward to the film and seeing how it fits in with X-Men continuity as a whole, which is my favorite comic book movie series.

Like others have hinted at I don't think this will ever intersect with the Actual X-men continuity. The tone is soooo different. for example X-men " what did you expect we run around in spandex" Deadpool well judge for yourself he is basically running around in red spandex. This is clearly a fan project for fans by fans.

After all it took "leaked" footage to get a massive fan outcry to convince fox to say OK. Fox appears to have let this team off the chain, and I think it will be much to their surprise, that this will be probably the single most comic book inspired move of all comic book movies (that are not animated) and I think it will do better then many of the Suits Approved (because we know better then the fans) movies. I think this will crush All of the fantastic four movies and could put up respectable numbers for an Obscure not from Disney/Marvel(or Staring Batman) movie.

I don't see how the tone is that much different than the tone of Ant-Man was different from the tone of Thor which was different from the tone of Captain America which was different from the tone of Guardians of the Galaxy which will be different from the tone of Doctor Strange which will be different from the tone of Spider-Man, etc., etc... And yet they're all in the same universe.

Just because movies are set within the same universe does not mean they all need to have the same tone. That's one of the problems Fox had with this new Fantastic Four that's bombing -- they wanted it to be in the same tone as the X-Men movies. I think Deadpool seems like it can fit in just enough with the tone of the X-Men movies and still have its own unique flavor at the same time.

I really don't see it. Just look at the handling of colossus. He is real colossus in deadpool (suit and all) and he is a shade of himself in the X-men movies. One of the films wants to be the most outrageous comic book movie it can be and the X-men franchise seems to be going for look its like its happening in the real world (self conscious fashion forward characters and all).

This is the best looking x character we have gotten. F&$# Singer. I hope more characters in these fox movies get awesome uniforms.

I didn't think the trailer seemed that far off from the other X films, but I didn't really notice Colossus' outfit. I took the trailer as "procedure made him insane and now he says insane garbage" but it still looked realistic for the most part. I mean, who knows, will have to see the movie to know for sure.

If it is a lot more comic-booky than any impact that might have on the other X films would likely depend on its box office take.

Trailer's not bad (Not a fan of slo-mo side-shooting even if it is supposed to be ironic), so I'm hoping for good things.

Not getting my hopes up too high though...I remember Hancock.

To be fair, the slo-mo in the trailer is mostly so you can actually see the bullet go through (and obliterate) three heads.

If they did that at full speed it wouldn't look as good.

Not really impressed by the trailer to be honest. Reynolds Carey-esque delivery, to me, is pretty much like how he would deliver his lines in Two Guys and a Girl. I will watch but I have a feeling I might find the comedy a bit too lighthearted based on what I've seen, like, the gap difference in tone between the comedy and the violence might be too off putting. Anyone feel that?

Interesting to find out Cudmore declined to reprise his role. His loss.

As far as co-existing with the other films, the tone isn't a problem. The character clearly has his humor and all which suits him fine, but the question is if he will break the fourth wall. If he acts self-aware he is in a movie, or speaks directly to the audience, then they couldn't reasonably tie this in with the existing X-verse.

(Unless, I suppose, they find a way to play it off like he is crazy and basically talking to an imaginary audience in his head.)
