"DEADPOOL'S" COLOSSUS ACTOR WAS REPLACED AT THE LAST MINUTE; NEW PHOTOS RELEASED

Andre Tricoteux is no longer playing Colossus in the "Deadpool" movie, as it has just now been revealed that Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic was brought in to replace Tricoteux at the last minute.

According to Entertainment Weekly, 37-year-old Kapicic -- who has appeared on "24" and "The Event" -- voiced the character, and partially performed the role using motion capture. Kapicic was hired so late in the process that he only finished performing the character in mid-December -- just eight weeks before the film's release.

I posted about this earlier in the thread, but I must have overlooked while reading it that this is actually a last minute replacement actor. I wonder how much the previous actor actually filmed. It doesn't seem to matter much, because obviously they're going with a fully rendered CG version of Colossus, and neither actor facially looks much like the finished character anyway. I guess it's mostly about the vocal performance. Shame they couldn't just get Daniel Cudmore back, because he looks the most like the character in the face without the CG. Still, I think this version of Colossus will be the best on film so far, even though I think his appearance in a Deadpool movie is a bit strange when there are so many other characters that have closer connections to Deadpool.

Nah, I think that flat-finish makes him look more like steel, rather than the overly shiny chrome look he had the previous X-Men movies.

Loving everything they are doing with this movie so far. The marketing is great. Not shying away from being inappropriate is the right call. I just hope it's as violent and non-PC looney toons as I need it to be.

Ryan Reynolds should get some type of reward for what he's done:
1. Erasing the memory of Deadpool from Wolverine Origins
2. Help create the first awesome-looking R-rated Marvel film which will probably be at same respectful level of Watchmen and Kick-Ass from the other comic book companies
3. Erasing the memory of Colossus Lite from the X-Men movies where Colossus will be most likely doing some serious memorable ass-whooping.

Unfortunately R rated means no, it will do close to mad Max numbers and hopefully some its a small film in sets and locations they kept the final budget small enough to make it work

Right. The same thing basically happened this year in February (and from Fox) with Kingsman, an R-rated comic book-film that seemed to surprise everyone with its $128M domestic take. We'll see, but I doubt this will do much better than that or Mad Max numbers, but then again, it doesn't have a huge budget, so it doesn't have to to be considered a success.
