while i agree w/you that his choices in roles hasn't been stellar, Blade, Wolverine, and even Green Lantern to a point weren't his fault.

Green Lantern was a mess from top to bottom. it wasn't just Reynolds.......but from what i remember, he wasn't all that bad in it.

Yeah, he was actually the only thing good about Blade 3, Wolverine or Green Lantern. Those films didn't tank because of him ... the other actors, story and directing in all 3 were horrible. He was the only shining light and probably the only reason why I and others even tolerate those films.

I quite enjoyed RIPD. Yes, it was a MIB wannabe, but it was fun, and better than most if not all of the overrated MIB films, and much of what was good about it was Reynolds' humor.

Blade Trinity was not a great film, but I thought it was better than Blade II (the first is still the best by far), which I have never understood the love for, and Reynolds was one of the best things about it. Reynolds himself has said if that role never happened, we wouldnt be getting this Deadpool movie now.

As for Wolverine, another film I have never understood all the hate for. It's better than THE Wolverine, and better than First Class, which is easily the worst of all the X-films.

Reynolds seems like a quirky, need to make jokes when its not the right time, kinda guy.

That one movie he did where he played a waiter at a restaurant called Shenaniganz was perfect for him because the role called for that and he was perfect.

Deadpool is perfect for him because it allows him to break that fourth wall and the writers can use that perfectly to create humor that I can only see Reynolds accomplishing.

Basically, both are perfect for each other.
