The stormtroopers are just regular soldiers. Jango died in Episode 2, so the original source for the clone genes was gone. By the time we reach the events of Episode IV, it has been over twenty years since Jango was killed, that's why the stormtroopers voices were kept the way they've always been in the OT since the beginning and only Boba's voice was altered, to reflect that he's a Jango clone.

Um, if they had the technology to clone genes I am sure they had his DNA on file. Plus it showed thousands of kids the same age as Boba in Clones. Of course this is just what would make sense. I am sure that even in a galaxy far far away they had OBGYNs. I mean if I was having nightmares of my wife dying in childbirth I might take her to a doctor. But then they would have found out they were having twins throwing a monkey wrench into the screenplay.

Hmmmm......it Cleary states in the movie that only Boba has Jango's unaltered genes, you can't get Jango's unaltered DNA from a clone, their genes have been heavily modified! I thought that was pretty clear in the movie

It says the stormtroopers have been accelerated growth wise, but Bobba was not. I think they're all identical in the end, just takes less or more time to get there. Don't tell Lucas though, he'll dub all the stormtroopers in the original trilogy with the same Bobba Fett voice.

Oh, I saw the last page was almost all wiped clean. That was a fun read and then I had to do a double take because it was all gone.

I'm not sure if they're drafted (Biggs joins up and goes AWOL) but the stormtroopers are young guys from all over the Galaxy. It makes sense if you're the Emperor, have all the potential young rebels on your side, with human faces. If the Rebels do strike they've killed innocent soldiers and not refried Jangos ...

I actually met Jeremy Bulloch (the original Boba Fett) a few years back. Needless to say, he is a bit hurt about what has happened to his work with the character over the years. He is a great guy and had many fun stories to tell (like how he kept saying "Put Captain Cargo in the Solo unit")

Before the Blu-ray set was released, posts in this thread were getting deleted so much that the "last page" was virtually inaccessible for what seemed hours at a time. Some software bug simply prevented access to it.

A superior cut of the film IMHO. It moves like lighting and almost every eye rolling moment has been cut out. Perhaps one day we will be able to see that cut on Blu-ray but I would not bet the rent money on it..

Also, don't know if this is true or not, but some commentator on youtube said Morrison recorded his lines over the phone.

Nope. AOTC was way before the modern stereoscopic 3D became mainstream. Back then, IMAX had to be run on huge 70mm film platters. And because of that, it had a limited runtime. So AOTC had an edited version for IMAX.

Of course, this is no longer an issue now that most IMAX is switching or have switched to digital.

I never saw that IMAX version but I know what they left out and it sounds like it makes the movie much better. Definitely want to see it, but since it's never been released on any home video formart.....

But it's not his voice in the UOT anyway though, it's a guy called Jason Wingreen...

I dunno about that but I think it was definitely one of those 'he's on the other side of the world' type scenarios, which isn't unusual for ADR. Still, even if Morrison didn't literally phone it in, he certainly did so in a metaphorical sense because the readings are so flat and lifeless. Why didn't no-one just play him the dialogue from Empire and say 'impersonate that but with your natural Kiwi accent'?

No lazier than Han Solo, Luke Skywalker or Chewbacca, really.

I'm a Grievous lover. My son's got the figure of him with the flames coming out of his eyes after Obi-wan kills him. It's great
