Robocop 2 is Le bad cinema. I used to think it was really good. I saw it in theaters twice and even once actually declared it to be better than the original. I revisited the film about 5 or 6 years ago and I have to confess I don't know what the hell I was thinking. It's just bad.... like Running Man bad, or Cobra bad.

Yep, the films had a blue cast in 2004. It stuck out like a sore thumb. Adywan also made a post a while back showing the unfixed lightsabers in ESB. It seemed to go unnoticed by most.

I have a feeling a lot of the "pre-order cancelled" folks will be doing that. My favorite though are the odd posts that say "No unaltered trilogy = no sale. Pre-order cancelled." Which means, despite knowing for a year that the BDs would be the SEs, the person pre-ordered anyway!?!? Hmm....

I had the exact same 'this certainly could have been worse' reaction to the plain US discs.

Yea but common blank? Really? And who know there might be art on the slim BLu ray cases. I like the U.K version, i hate the fact of pulling the discs outta the awkward book.

Not really related but this brought back some memories. When we were in elementary school back in the late 70's-early 80's, anytime one of us(myself and two of my friends) found a hard-to-find Star Wars figure, we'd buy ourselves one and then hide another one somewhere in the store so the other friend wouldn't miss out. Then, we'd get home and call the other and let them know where to find it. I'm talking under bath towels, in the women's clothing areas, hardware, electronics, etc.

3) What was changed with Obi Wan? What did the original dragon call sound like?

Original version: He actually sounded like a dragon.

2004 DVD Change: He sounded like a bird.

2011 Blu-Ray Change: He sounds like an old, drunk fool now.

I can't believe they still didn't fix these lightsabers. After everything they said and it has been seven years. It's odd that they can add rocks and reflections and enlarge doors, but can't be bothered with the lightsaber issues from 2004.

Now these are full 1080 size

[Show spoiler]

So far it looks like they have altered just 2 shots in ESB, but shots that people would have probably never noticed, while leaving such glaring errors caused by the 2004 transfer alone. Two alterations; the Wampa puppet arm and they added reflections to the window in Cloud City

[Show spoiler]

I just don't understand what they were thinking when they worked on these. Would it have been better to fix all the errors with colour etc, that were only caused by the 2004 master, first before making alterations and adding stuff? Surely that would have made more sense?

Now i've seen that when anyone complains that Lucasfilm are supposed to have fixed the problems with the lightsabres that you get someone coming back and saying stuff like "they never said they were fixing all of the lightsabres only select shots", well that isn't true. These people seem to quote an email KenKraly is supposed to have got from Lucasfilm. During the promotional day at the Ranch here is what was actually said:

Source: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/t/31...t#post_3842951

Not one place was it ever mentioned that they only did this in "select" or "a few" shots. That quote implies that they fixed the problems with the cores, but the Blu-Ray rips prove otherwise. Nowhere in ESB have they done that. The sabres are the same way they were in 2004.

If Lucas screws with the Star Wars saga any more we won't be able to recognize it and we the fans should make him change the name of the saga.

Lightsabers I can deal with - they never bothered me until I read this thread to begin with. But the movies always looked too dark. I really can't tell from the screen shots so far if this trend will continue or not, and I feel like they only needed to adjust the films' gamma levels to fix it. (I'm sure I'm wrong about that, but how hard would it have been to fix?)

Haven't you heard that Lucas thought it looked much more menacing for Vader to be holding a long stick of pink Bubble Yum than a red Sith lightsaber? Who can argue with great decision making like that?

Perhaps the world is not made. Perhaps nothing is made. A clock without a craftsman. It's too late. Always has been, always will be...too late.
