With all the audio "fixes" going on in the OT, I wonder if the battle droid voices in episodes 1 and 2 will be made to sound more like those in episode 3 and the clone wars series? I think that's a change I would actually enjoy.

No guarantees of course, but with other titles AmUK has sometimes shipped pre-orders out a day or two early, so they actually arrive on or near the release date. Some distributors might have specific embargoes on such a thing, though.

As much as I disagree with Lucas Star Wars (IV) is his movie as is Return of The Jedi (it's true). The Empire Strikes Back was altered minimally and seemingly with the consent of the still living Kirshner.

Irving Kirshner made three of the greatest sequels in movie history (TESB, Never Say Never Again, and Robocop 2) and if he's alright with something than so am I.

* I know "Never Say Never Again" isn't a REAL Bond film, but then again Bond films aren't real anyway to begin with.

That was the issue with the 2004 set. Going from VHS, they would look incredible. The sharpness and clarity were great. It was the color timing, crushed blacks, and new lightsaber errors that were the problem.

I really hope the crushed blacks don't carry over to the Blu. That's the only thing on my wishlist that I must have to be happy, to be honest.

OK, am I missing something because they're displayed slightly differently, or is the only difference between those two options the artwork on the discs themselves?

Point being that it has indeed ben debunked time and again. Yet the standard line from LFL is that they don't exist. BFA and Library of Congress have 35 mm prints preserved.

while some of these changes are bad. 2 or 3 is bad. Most of the changes improve the movies.

The most noticeable thing to me was the overblown blue in ANH. According to Adywan it is still there in the Blu Ray release. The black crush is pretty bad.

HD Goofnut already showed it. Basically, it's a loss of shadow detail.

The US version has a paper "digibook" type packaging with slide in holders for the discs. The UK version has the small thin Blu Ray cases.

That was definitely high on my list as well, not to mention the lightsabers. You've got to wonder when they take the time to add rocks to a 34-year-old film, enlarge Jabba's door, and add a reflection on Cloud City, yet can't fix the lightsabers, one of the main symbols of the whole Star Wars universe.
