I don't understand why Vader's saber is not red.
Has Lucas ever touched upon that.

Why would that one be in black and white? They showed a color clip of Han kissing the girl on the 2004 DVD.

Actually, some people just don't like the change. Period. Is that hard to understand? You seem to be lumping anyone who has expressed dislike of the change into your "riot" group, whoever that is anyway. Sounds like more hyperbole to me. I dislike the change and think it was a bad decision on Lucas' part, as do many. Does that make me a "hater" or a "basher"? Saying it does would be as moronic as saying everyone who likes the change must be an apologist. That would be an incredibly stupid assumption and generalization to make. Opinions vary. Does every opinion have to be an agreeable one?

Quote:
Before the changes were spotted people were tearing the Set apart out of thin air ...
Who? I saw many people praising/criticizing the specs. Nothing wrong with that. Should people just blindly accept things and be happy or should they be human and express an objective opinion, whether they're happy or not? That's what a discussion board is for. With the exception of a few troublesome members on both sides, most people kept their opinions, pro or con, on what we were getting and expressed their hope for A/V improvements and did it in a respectable manner. Since the changes were revealed in the last few days, many have expressed unhappiness with some of them and the lack of lightsaber fixes. Is that a bad thing if they do it in a reasonable manner? I always get a laugh out of the people who complain when others don't like the same thing that they do.

Quote:
They simply love to hate it. I´ll never get it!
Generalizing again. No one here hates Star Wars. Everyone that takes the time to post in here loves Star Wars in one way or another or they wouldn't bother coming here. It's just when people don't like everything you love about Star Wars, you falsely accuse them of hating it. Sort of like the "real fan" nonsense you used to bait people with.

Sure, people figured that there would be more changes for months. Since they knew ahead of time, but didn't know what they'd be, does that preclude their right or ability to critique those changes? Does that mean we can only express an opinion if it's in support of the change? A discussion board is for all sides to a subject and this is a Star Wars thread on a discussion board. Get used to it.

Anyone notice the comments section on here:

http://www.bigshinyrobot.com/reviews/archives/32060

The author has put up a comment on 31st August confirming everything is as per the rips. Assume he received his screener disc then???

It might not be, but the time is indentical to the black and white version released on the Behind the magic disc many, many years ago. We also know George is very anti colouring balck and white footage

Just a question... why should anyone wait for the release to decide they don't like the additional footage and changes? Just as a 2-week reprieve?

I mean it's not like they are going to magically change things back before it comes out, I'm pretty sure if you don't like Darth saying "Nooo" in those clips you aren't going to have much of a change of heart just because the clock strikes 12 on the 16th.

Has there been anything come to light to indicate that these changes are a hoax? (Fingers crossed).

I think he's in Europe (his set is European version), so he might be working now. I would take the day off if I were him.

It seems that they did fix the sabers:

That's definite improvement. Good to see.

I've cooled down about this a bit since the initial news of this debacle, and have moved to a place of "I don't care". I'm still not buying this set, but whatever Lucas does is not worth getting upset over anymore.

I may still get the prequel box set. I'm not overly fond of AotC, but it does have some wonderful visuals and music that will be great in HD. TPM holds great nostalgia for me (one of my most joyful cinema experiences ever), and I also love RotS despite some hammy acting at times.

I'd like to apologize to anyone who thinks I was getting unnecessarily irate over this. I still maintain there's nothing wrong with getting upset over these changes, but I do acknowledge that it's not worth having a heart attack over.

I wonder if those who don't like Darth saying "Nooo" will refrain from buying this as a result. If they do buy it, then what's the point of making it a huge issue? Seems rather hypocritical to me. You either stand by your convictions or crumble like a stale piece of bread.

I've been thinking, is there a chance that Obi-Wan's dragon call will be emulated in Episode III instead of his whistle? He probably calls Boga with a thirty second Varactyl mating call.

His saber is red. White core with a red glow. There have always been some inconsistencies. The bulk of them in the first film. The 2004 set introduced a lot of these pink sabers that you didn't see in the '97 SE's.

If it does not look red then it's not red.

i love watching the VHS tapes, but they have to be viewed on a SD CRT tv- they can still look really good displayed in that format

Magenta is a color evoked by light stronger in blue and red wavelengths than in yellowish-green wavelengths. (complements of magenta have wavelength 500–530 nm, i.e. green.).[2] In light experiments, magenta can be produced by removing the lime-green wavelengths from white light. It is an extra-spectral color, meaning it cannot be generated by a single wavelength of light, being a mixture of red and blue wavelengths.[3] The name magenta comes from the dye magenta, commonly called fuchsine, discovered shortly after the 1859 Battle of Magenta (from the color of the land all covered by the blood) at Magenta, Lombardy (Italy) near Milan.[4]

In the Munsell color system, magenta is called red-purple. In the CMYK color model used in printing, it is one of the primary colors of ink. In the RGB color model, the secondary color created by mixing the red and blue primaries is called magenta or fuchsia, though this color differs in hue from printer’s magenta.
The X-wing engines are also magenta.

I like the way you say "Most people on here seem to think it's fine",when referring to the fellowships tint.

It's like saying the majority who like it are mad,and you will leave them to their harmless delusions.

How gracious of you.
