I was hoping there would have been an option to switch angles and go fullscreen. At least there isn't a 'Later on Fox' banner scrolling at the bottom of the screen.

No just your VCR, if it has only one audio output and not both the red and white sockets your VCR is a mono model.

Yeah I am not too happy about the border issue, but I think it will be ok when we actually get to use the discs ourselves and see how all the bonus features play together.

There isn't much else he could have done here. and he definitely got the best out of it as you can see from the atrocious HDTV screenshot
Excuse me, but from these two HDTV screenshot looks better. It's bad, yes, but there's grain and you can see skin texture. Shot from blu is just a wax, there are no details here.

When it comes to overall quality, both shots are almost the same, just look at single hair at the right; looks exactly the same at boths shots.

TPM looks like a big mess right now; some stunning, sharp, film quality shots and DNR, soft nightmare with no details.

Are you really going to say "not much could have been done" from an atrocious low bitrate mpeg2 HDTV screenshot?? Look how bad the geometry is off on those HDTV screen caps.

Come on that is just goofy.....

Thank you!
In all the amount of Prequels deleted scenes, if you watched one of them, can you confirm new scenes with special effects?
I just want to know if we'll get only animatics and blue screen acting or not...

What's interesting about some of the shots of TPM that show the DNR... you actually see more detail.

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison.php?id=78492

This Padme shot being especially telling. Look at her hair... on the HDTV version... it kinda blends together and is kinda "fuzzy". But even though the Blu-ray shot shows some DNR, you can actually see the individual hairs on her head.

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison.php?id=78493

Same with Mace here... where you can clearly see the lines in his forehead on the Blu-Ray version. And the individual hairs that make up his eyebrows on the Blu-Ray image. Where as they sort of blend together on the HDTV shot.

Sure there are some images, like the infamous "Qui-Gon Shot", that look a bit off. But that shot looked bad originally anyway.

I'm thinking it's very much in keeping with the careful de-graining that was done for Aliens. Which makes me happy.
+1,000,000, Beast.

Its not, but all retailers get issued an allocated amount from the print run. Amazon UK is clearly getting close to selling all of theirs, hence the note they have now added to the complete saga page.

After about 1-2 weeksafter release, they will get their next batch. It gives the general public the impression it is a red hot product because it sells out. Very much the same trick they use with modern warfare games to make sure everyone that wants one pre-orders.

No, all Star Wars VHS tapes were stereo. Your VCR is either an older model (as VHS decks go) or lower-end, or both.

It isn't to 75% of the worlds population, but it will appear to be with all of the free advertising it has been getting. If it sells out in shops (which it will do as they will hold stock back to keep the price inflated) it will become the must buy blu-ray.

Thats why you pre-order or risk not getting it.

Beast and Jumpman, you CAN NOT compare HDTV screenshots to a Blu Ray. They are all ways going to look better. The bitrate jump alone will allow for more detail!

No, not all VHS tapes are mono. Sounds like you have an outdated VCR player, most of the late models were stereo but not all movies were stereo to begin with. For VHS transfer, I use the Panasonic DMP-BD70V and connect that to my Hauppauge Colossus HDMI in card. You would be amazed the extreme quality improvement vs. using say a vcr with video rca or svhs out to a Canopus device. If they ever make a blu ray / laserdisc combo player, I'll be on board for that too.

No. They are presented on all of the screen.

Beats me. To preserve disc space, perhaps?

Thank you very much in advance!
I checked just now, and yeah, it has a lot of unfinished blue screen & other effects.

If anyone cares, bonus disc one and two don't have Scandinavian subtitles, only English/French/Spanish/Dutch/Portuguese. A bit odd since all the other discs of course have Scandinavian subtitles, my set being from this region. Just thought I'd mention it.
