I've been enjoying the star wars complete saga on blu-ray since they came out and I have enjoyed it extras , picture and sound mixes everything about them. Yes I know their have been some complaint's about the blu-rays by some fans , the vader no in ROTJ , The other changes made to the films for the blu-rays , the blue tint to the scenes in ESB etc , etc. but the thing is those changes do not bother me like it does with some fans and if they don't like the changes then that's fine that is their opinion and I have no problem with that. The films look good on blu-ray and the sound great and it's the best the films have looked on any format.

Star Wars looked very very good on the movie screen in 1977.

I was not born in 1977 I was born the year ROTJ came out in 1983 and I did not see Star Wars in the theaters until 1997 when the SE of ANH came out. I'm just saying the blu-rays are the best the star wars films have looked on any home video format.

No, I think you have grain on ROTJ. And that's a good thing.
Well from the rebel briefing all the way up to them landing on the moon of Endor I can clearly see white vertical lines in the picture, I have no problem with grain whatsoever, but I didn't think thats what it was, its still distracting enough to pull me out of the movie because its not there in many other scenes unfortunately....I'm probably being particualrly picky, but its just very distracting to me, if others don't have this problem with their copy,I'm just wondering why is all, I have other blus with grain and it doesn't bother me in the slightest, but white lines clearly visiable down a few random scenes does.
Ha,I'll have to stop ranting about this....

I don't know why people are complaining about the Blus...

The Original Trilogy looks fantastic overall. The only problem with the picture is the frozen grain fields . It is especially horrible in ANH when 3P0 is walking around Tatooine. Still though, I was blown away with our much clarity and detail there was in the picture over all.

The Audio Quality brings tears to my eyes it is so good. Also I don't mind the NOOOOO at all. I was P!SS#D when I first learned about it but it isn't that bad, though I think the first No is too loud and a bit unnecessary.

I also cannot believe people are complaining about the PQ on RotS! There are very subtle instances where some video noise is visible, barely enough to even notice.

Having said this I for one really enjoyed rewatching all 6 movies even though I would say I only love 4 of them now (TESB, ANH, ROTS, ROTJ in that order). I thought I'd enjoy TPM as that was my favourite when I was a kid (saw it in theatres when I was 8) but unfortunately not so.

For the love of all things good people watch the darn movies and stop complaining, a few years ago it sounded like Lucas had absolutely no intention of putting these on Blu-Ray, be thankful we have them at all.

I don't think that's true as long as you include the first film with the Episode IV header as still being original.

I have a THX boxed set on VHS of the OUT. I'm about 95% certain these are NOT the special editions. Weren't all the special editions labeled as such when they were first released?

I haven't noticed white lines, but from when Vader senses Luke on the shuttle, until just after they land on Endor, the picture looks upconverted and washed out for about two minutes.

It's not subtle at all on the 2 copies I've had! In fact its so horribly jarring on mine that I can't even watch it. I'm not even a PT basher, I love them, but the noise in my copy is so bad it's unacceptable to me.

I agree with this. I initially thought that RotS looked a little off, but I realized that I had some pretty bad settings, and with a little adjustment, such as turning the sharpness off, Sith was looking as good as ever. I will admit though, there are a couple spots that don't look so great, specifically the scene where Bail Organa interrupts Yoda's meditation towards the end of the film. It might just be me, though.

No, I must admit that scene was off too.

The only issue I've had with ROTS was the noise/grain spikes but thats when I had edge enhancement turned on, so I changed from "dynamic" to "normal" and the problem pretty much went away, with the exception of one or two scenes.

Look for Jabba in ANH. Actually just look for the dewbacks in Mos Eisley. If they're not there, it's the original.

It's not my settings. I don't have problems with any other blu-rays. I do like to keep my sharpness turned up all the way though, but its never been a problem.

I did try watching it with the sharpness turned all the way down, and while it helped somewhat, the noise was still pretty noticeable in many scenes. I really dislike watching movies & playing games without the sharpness all the way up tbh, otherwise It makes the picture more blurry and far less detailed.

Yes. the VHS release with Vader, a Stormtrooper, and Yoda on the covers were the last original releases. The tagline was "The originals one last time..." The next ones were the special editions.

Twice!!!
The '97 editions
and the
2000 editions.
Both editions are slightly different.
Everyone always forgets that the 2000 edits even exist...

How high is your sharpness turned up?

It shouldn't be too far passed 30%. If your sharpness is too high that would make things like video noise and film grain look VERY bad.

every expert in the industry will tell you turn the sharpness all the way down, it only adds noise to the picture. also check your contrast should below 50% at least.
