I see the price of $98.99 as well but it also says Amazon price of $41.94....Its weird lol......I was gonna hold out until they at least include the true versions of the films but I might have to pull the trigger at this price

The $41 price is from a 3rd party seller for a UK import. Great price, unless you want to pay almost $60 for the book packaging of course....

I see that link as well but it appears that price is not valid.

Pure wild speculation on my part, but I think the UOT will be announced in the Star Wars Celebration "Closing Ceremony" panel (3:30pm-4:30pm PST). None of the other panels on the schedule make sense for it (in terms of their subject matter), and the description of the Closing Ceremony says:
Quote:
Come together at the Closing Ceremony at Celebration to relive some of your favorite moments of the weekend, and to see some of the highlights you might have missed. Nostalgic and fun, plus there might be a forward-looking surprise in the mix!
Just wanted to throw my prediction in there so I can be properly mocked when I'm wrong.

The surprise will be an announcement of a repackage of the existing Blurays with BRAND NEW EXCLUSIVE ....faceplates.

Anyway, in how many hours is this?

Why would anyone rebuy the 3 movies just for a few seconds of difference? They need to release all 6 films on blu ray 3D. I want to see Darth Sidious' force lightning being zapped in my face!

Short question, probably answering it myself. I own the OT in form of the 1995 THX LDs, and Ep. I in form of the Jap LD. If I want the closest thing to the theatrical versions of Ep. II and III on home video, I'd have to go for the original DVD releases? I'm guessing so, just seeking confirmation.

I know...

I have considered going for CAV discs of the OT as of late... Less smear. The 1995 discs are all I've had, picked up around the time LD was dying and DVD was pretty new...

There's only two versions of episodes II and III out there, the DVD cuts and BD cuts, and I don't think either is radically different from the other. The DVDs of those movies have much more robust special features however.

Here's what I'm hoping is announced today:

-The OUT Blu-ray and DVD
-The Original Unaltered Saga
-The Ewok Adventures Special Edition Blu-ray and DVD
-Complete Series of Droids and Ewoks
-Star Wars Rebels Season 1 DVD and Blu-ray

MAYBE:
-The Clone Wars Complete Series set (with upgraded DTS-HD audio for seasons 1, 2, and 6)
-OT releases featuring the 2015 Special Editions and the Original Theatrical Versions (both remastered in 4K)
-The Original Clone Wars Micro-Series Blu-ray and DVD

I'm just saying; these are the perfect tie-ins for VII.

You're forgetting the original theatrical cuts that were never released on home video.

No I'm not. By "out there" I meant available to own. His question was about which to buy, and I don't think an original theatrical film reel was what he meant.
