The focus right now is Episode VII. That film is going to set the tone for this entire enterprise.

I know a lot of people hoped for a GOUT announcement at Celebration, and although I too was hoping for it, I believed the chance for it was low right now.

2017 is the safe bet (and most likely).

My first VHS was Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964)
My last VHS was Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)

My first DVD was The Best Bits of Mr. Bean – Season 1 Episode 15 of Mr. Bean
My last DVD was the complete 7 seasons of Boy Meets World.
So my first and last DVD were TV episodes

My first Blu-ray Disc was Robin Hood (2010)
And I'm not done collecting Blu-ray Discs yet

Doesn't mean they can't at least tell us if we should expect to see a release anytime in the foreseeable future.

Did anyone buy the digital movies?

Which cut is it? I suspect from the copyright date that it's the 1997 Special Edition cut, but I read somewhere it is the 2011 Blu-ray cut.

Can someone confirm which cut of the film it is?

Movie Censorship is a good site for this kind of thing. I think DVD Active did thorough breakdowns as well at some point. Between DVD and BD it's mostly just some wipes and small editing changes.

People have confirmed they are exactly the BD cuts, I believe.

Are the 1997 special edition cuts even available enhanced for 16:9?

Ok thanks
Well that settles that, no Sebastian Shaw in ROTJ, no dice. (I might have popped on it if it was the '97 cut)

Is this even a serious question?
The only thing that matters it the media it was filmed on, and the aspect ratio.
You can always make it anamorphic when going digital, this is totally a non issue.

The highest quality version of the 1997 SE is on Laserdisc, and it is letterboxed in a 1.33:1 image. It even has Dolby 5.1 audio available, provided that you have an outboard RF demodulator hooked up to the LD player to decode the AC3 signal.

Best quality you can buy, but there were HDTV versions.

I hadn't noticed that they've put up some of the documentaries. The Phantom Menace one is in HD, it looks okay and beats the DVD version.

So have the tin foil hat brigade now moved onto May 4th as being the date they will announce the GOUT since they were proven wrong yet again?

Sadly, I do not remember what my first and last VHS purchases were. Based on the year I got my first DVD player (1997), it likely would have been a movie from that year. I regret getting rid of my VHS tapes of Star Wars though...

My first DVD: Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)
My last DVD: Tin Man (2007)
My first Blu: Inception (2010)

What The Aluminum-Falcon!?!?!?!

Watched thirty hours of mostly inane SW nerd banter and selfies taking, that was punctuated by a fun tidbit or two from a streamed panel, and yet no one announced the holy grail...

BUT it was not till the very end of the convention that the stream gave the only irrefutable and most concrete hint that the GOUT may/will be released!!!!!

Or did we get Yub-Nubed???

Half-Life 3 confirmed?

</sarcasm>

Thought we had top men on this.

The "NOOOOOO..." is repeated with each characters death in the series. Sometimes it's just not as loud as Vaders.
