Got this complete Star Wars Blu-Ray 9 disc set today from a pawn shop for $10. Episode IV has a few light scratches, the rest are Mint. Slipcase is Near Mint.
I'm definitely a bargain hunter collector, pretty stoked about this deal!

How in the world is that even possible to acquire that set for 10 bucks...I haven't seen that price and nowhere close to it anywhere at any store or site.

Dang bro, you beat me and I thought I got a great deal. I bought the Saga from my local Pawn Shop in total mint condition for 30 bucks a month ago, listed at 59.99. I've been doing business there for years so I thought the girl that I talk to all the time was just doing me a great favor! You getting for 10 is friggin' too good to be true!!! You should feel very privileged and extremely lucky! Good score!!!!!!!!

On the other hand, I wouldn't take it even if they paid me $100!
But that's just me..

Pawn shops set their own prices and rules. They probably paid the guy who sold it $5. They had no idea what they had, just treated it like another movie.

Also, this guy is an idiot.
Stopped watching when he hit it for the 3rd time.
Player wasn't responding to the "spacebar" key to pause it or I'd have stopped watching earlier...

A lot of pawn shops look to Amazon and price accordingly, not knowing or caring many of the DVD or Bluray box sets are restricted. Now many here won't know what I mean when I say 'Restricted'. HBO, BBC, Disney and some other studios have restrictions on selling their DVD/Bluray releases. Only people Amazon approves can sell these items. So it really doesn't matter what it's going for on Amazon if you can't sell it there.
The Star Wars set I got for $10 was obviously an awesome deal. As was my Complete Twilight Zone Bluray set I got for $6.
These deals are out there, you just have to be a hunter.

I found this article about how we may never see the UOT released cause Lucas doesn't want it, and i came across a comment he made on the subject...and i am quoting:

In 2004, when a new DVD special edition came out, Lucas told the Associated Press he had little sympathy for fans who yearn for the 1977 original. “It’s like this is the movie I wanted it to be, and I’m sorry if you saw half a completed film and fell in love with it,” he said. “But I want it to be the way I want it to be.”

In other words, he has little sympathy for the people that made him what he is.

That's not new in any way. However, Lucas has no choice on the matter anymore. Right now it's 100% a rights issue between Disney and Fox.

Don't worry. Wait for about 30 years later, when he's *really* no longer around, then Disney will cash in on the UOT in Super-Mega-Ultra High Definition format.

Considering all the shit, Star War fans lose, I'm surprised they're not adult-diapers.
